Nothing we don't already know of course. But I found it funny that the writer made the distinction of only mentioning Asik among bigs.

But we knew that about Asik. Howard offensively is so superior.

Dude gotta stop being a ballerina around the rim and just dunk it. But Asik just doesn't have the explosive hops to dunk all the time so he often settles for really bad lay ups.

The sad thing is, Dwight is an improvement over Asik in every area..that makes it that having Asik is costly for us

Yes, Dwight is just a better Asik... but Dwight can't play 48 minutes a game, so Asik is still a big asset to us

Huh? Asik is still better than every other backup center and most starting centers.

The fact that Dwight is better means nothing unless we are debating who should be the starting center.

Asik's value is hight, regardless of how good Howard is.

He can kill an elephant with his bare hands (i think, i'm not sure) but can't make a layup.

Asik is a better FT shooter

I think Asik is a better passer

Poor Asik, very underrated on this board:(

Asik is a bargain at any price since we are already over the cap(That is assuming Les is really willing to pay the LT). Asik playing the backup will allow us to jump to a top 10 defensive team with everything else being equal. That is the difference between us being wannabe or a contender.

The part about Rubio is hilarious. The kid does most things well except put the ball in the basket. His offensive capability is bordering on NCAA scrub level.

People leave him wide open and his FG percentage is still below 40 percent. That is pathetic.

Guess who else has a really high layup%?

Goran Dragic: 66% in 2012-13, 67% the year before.

The thing about comparing someone like Dragic and Isaiah Thomas to, say, Westbrook or Harden (who had pretty average layup FG%) is that the Westbrook/Hardens out there have dozens of dunks a season, which if they just laid it up instead of dunking it half of these times, would likely pump up their layup % a bit since these dunk situations often involve relatively easy shots like break-away baskets in transition.

He also cannot catch the ball or score very well and is about as athletic as a tree. His biggest issue is he forgets that he is a 7 footer (like Yao use to) and goes for those dinky layups when he should be hammering the ball home. I don't know if people underestimate Asik. Most of us are ecstatic with his production last season. It is simply that Dwight (especially when healthy) is so much better than Asik that it is not even funny.

No real secret. Asik's value has always been on the defensive end. His offensive game is still evolving. Only 145 lay-up attempts in 82 games is actually a really low average, so it's relatively harmless. I wonder how many of those misses he retrieved as offensive rebounds.

I remember when Yao tried to catch a pass and it ended up flying out of his hands and going in. But at least it was on the offensive end !

    Oh memories.
