No wonder his shot got so much better last year compared to his rookie season. I'm just hoping for one more jump this off-season to borderline all-star.
what's cool about this is that he already had above average shooting and ball handling abilities for his position. working on shooting off the dribble and more ball handling means he could be able to create his own shots and make them off the dribble at a higher level next year. i think he plans on becoming a "go-to-guy" so to speak. someone who you can give the ball to when the offense breaks down, get out of his way and watch him take his man one on one, or maybe even draw a double team. this would be huge for our team. however, it would be nice if he added some defense too
If he can make another jump like that... the Rockets will already have their "big three". No need to hunt for another star, just fill out the roster with the best veteran roleplayers we can find and go after that championship
looks like those nets around those baskets are forcing him to put more arch on his shot, which will help his shot%.. He has been a reliable 3 point shooter, but i recall him lasering baskets in many times.. With more arc the probability of a ball going in when its not a swish is higher with more arc on the shot.
Is it me or is he working on putting more of an arc on his jump shot? I noticed especially late in games that his shot flattened out last season. But he still has that hop forward in his shot which results in a backwards lean. This may contribute to the lower trajectory, but all in all, his shot is looking cleaner with a quick release.
That machine is called "The Gun", and both my high school and college teams had them. I used to hate using it at first because I already had enough arc on my shot, but the net was distracting. It looked like I had to put extra arc on my shot to get it over the net, which didn't seem natural. I was more focused on trying to not hit the net than focusing on the basket. But when I would just shoot naturally and ignore the net, I wouldn't hit the net anyway. It always just appeared like you would hit the net if you didn't get extra arc on your shot.
He and harden needs to set up a session w/ Hakeem...or will Hakeem be a training camp w/ them?...I hope so
