it certainly is not premature from the standpoint of the film being started way way back when Lin was a relative unknown.

the fact that it comes out right after Linsanity just points to the practicality and the reality of the business world. the makers would want to take the opportunity to get financial backing while Lin fever is still quite hot, because it will be the best way to have their work and their "message" mass marketed to the public. any artist would jump at the chance, because their form of expression becomes more fulfilling once shared. in short, it is not all money, but money does count to achieve non-monetary goals.

Way back in this thread I posted an update from their Kickstarter page that said that they were going back into the editing room with pages of notes/feedback from Sundance. I don't recall them making any other announcements about additional editing or the final cut after that point.

Tinman, I looked up the address - it's in Houston.

    AMC Studio 30
2949 Dunvale Rd, Houston, TX 77063, United States

I don't think you read my response.
It's DEFINITELY in Houston. I've been there before. When I say "where that is " is saying when I go to LA you tell me to go to Skid Row.

From the quotes you provided, it doesn't sound like a posh movie theatre. The moviegoers there would definitely need the inspiration from the movie.

Yeah I saw that. I wanted to see it, but I'm not going to that theater. Stupid decision to have it there.

Lin is known to have a soft spot for underprivileged youth. Perhaps it was a conscious decision to show his documentary at that theater......

In all seriousness, I highly doubt it lol

Nice. The one screening in LA listed so far is my favorite theatre. New-ish AMC (3-4 years old) right in the middle of a BIG Chinese city/community (San Gabriel Valley). So many dinner options....

I'm going to be really curious to see how many people are going to watch it at this theatre.

It's a good thing Linsanity is showing at a second theatre in Houston.

Is this one ok - Sundance Cinemas Houston, 510 Texas Ave, Houston, TX 77204?

Sundance is the super hipster theatre. You won't find kids loitering around or people bringing their 5 year olds with em there. Definitely a great alternative to AMC 30 (which honestly isn't as bad as people are making it out to be on this msg board)
