I'm comparing people getting killed in one school vs the other. That's really what gets parents going, not fights or drugs, but murder. Parents were out there complaining before anyone knew whether this was gang or race related. Even if it had been a random shooting, they would be piling on all their complaints about gangs and corruption. Theyre right in complaining, but they aren't right in expecting the school , as is, to prevent every murder, regardless of the cause of it. I know saying 100% prevention isn't realistic won't pacify them either, but they need to look at themselves and others involved, as well.
Not sure what you're getting at. Like i said, it's up to everyone that's part of the school to be vigilant and involved, which includes parents. Columbine sort of started things off, so are you saying those parents didn't know they had something to worry about?
Safety is largely about population scarcity, so as far away from the city center as possible. Lived in the Great Plains for nine years, desolate as hell but almost impossible to be robbed or assaulted.
Hours later, officials announced a 17-year-old was the lone suspect in the stabbings. Luis Alonzo Alfaro is charged with murder. The other two taken in for questioning are now considered witnesses to a crime, according to investigators. All victims and persons of interest were students at Spring ISD. The deceased victim has been identified by friends and family as 17-year-old Joshua Broussard. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23SpringHighSchool&src=hash">#SpringHighSchool</a> cancels classes Thursday and Friday <a href="http://t.co/s9GlNHPzqv">http://t.co/s9GlNHPzqv</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23abc13&src=hash">#abc13</a></p>— Houston News (@abc13houston) <a href="https://twitter.com/abc13houston/statuses/375366637874348032">September 4, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Spring ISD sets up phone line for parents, open Thur/Fri 10a-2p at 281-891-6575 <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23SpringHighSchool&src=hash">#SpringHighSchool</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23abc13&src=hash">#abc13</a></p>— Houston News (@abc13houston) <a href="https://twitter.com/abc13houston/statuses/375386914041651201">September 4, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
This is so crazy. I live across the freeway from the school. Always pass by the school whenever I pick up some Burger King or Sonic. Its insane the difference between SISD and Klein ISD, my school district. Like night and day. Sad, sad situation.
So is there going to be race tensions/wars at this school? Something good going to come out of this situation? If that's true about what was posted about the Superintendent, his ass should be gone.
It was about a girl, not gang stuff, not racial stuff, not drug stuff, just a girl. Guy#1 (victim), was hitting on Guy#2's (perp) girl at school on Tuesday. Guy#2 has issues with this, a confrontation ensues, and Guy#2 gets his ass kicked by Guy#1 and his crew. Guy#2 is embarrassed and wants to prove his manhood. Guy#2 takes a steak knife to school the next morning and stabs the **** out of Guy#1, when Guy#1's boys start to intervene they get slashed by Guy#2. Teenage hormones. Guy#2 lives 2 houses down from a friend of mine in Spring.
You can definitely see this occurring under those circumstances, not that it justifies what that young man did! Tragedy anyway you look at it! Thoughts and prayers to all the families involved. ....... ....... .......
Seriously? <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Spring High stabbing suspect faced a judge this morning, says it all started because the deceased victim bumped his shoulder.</p>— Tim Wetzel (@KHOUTim) <a href="https://twitter.com/KHOUTim/statuses/375583424389451776">September 5, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
the victim is the son of a friend of some of my friends, grew up down the street from a good friend of mine, went to school where i went to school, <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/video/embed?video_id=10151801909611530" width="854" height="480" frameborder="0"></iframe>
I believe this. I can't confirm it, but it sounds a lot more credible than "gang-related" (notice there aren't many more involved) or random. Thanks, BT. I wonder if we can get pics of the girl... and I on't mean it in a joking manner. I also think this same way as you, sir. There are from BAD kids to WORSE kids everywhere, and we can't just say "Oh, it's XYZ district, no wonder!" or "Oh, it's [race]... there are absolutely no [other race] bad kids, EVER." Those are dumb and hasty generalization statements.
No one is saying there is such thing as a perfect school district. But to deny the fact that some are worse than others and to say that they are all exactly equal is just naive and silly. Not sure what is so controversial or provocative about saying some districts are worst than others. That's just a fact.
What does a picture of a girl (who is likely a minor) have to do with anything? Why would you need that? What she looks like has no relevance on anything.
