What happened to representative government? The overwhelming majority is opposed to the Syrian intervention as reflected by virtually every poll. Yet, the Congress appears to be on board. Hey, why are YOU not listening to us, we elected you, we hired you, you work for us!

Time for social media to get engaged and mobilize to throw out any incumbent that votes for this train wreck.

Primaries are where they are most vulnerable imo. Asking voters to cross party lines to oust an incumbent is usually a bridge too far.

I'm so glad I'm not the President of the United States of America. What a ridiculous burden.

According to Sec. Kerry, the Arab states are offering to cover the cost of a full scale invasion to deseat Assad?

I find it suspicious that Kerry says there are no Al Qaeda people fighting on the side of the resistance. It's obvious that that is untrue. And if he is lying about that, then why? And what else is he lying about?

Totally agree. And then, every time I want to think it's "gotten more complicated and difficult than ever" I just want to make myself reread Team of Rivals (about Lincoln).

    it's always been a ridiculous burden. :(

    Holy crap.

“In fact, some of them have said that if the United States is prepared to go do the whole thing the way we’ve done it previously in other places, they’ll carry that cost,” Kerry said. “That’s how dedicated they are at this. That’s not in the cards, and nobody’s talking about it, but they’re talking in serious ways about getting this done."

Nobody's talking about it? You're talking about it, Mr. Kerry and (allegedly) the "Arab states" are talking about it. Don't talk about it! Seriously.

Yes, clearly the reason we're going into Syria is...because we will have the same amount of money doing so as before. Not to mention, we kind of already do this, we have hegemony for a reason, geniuses.

God, you libertards should listen to yourself sometimes.

I'm not sure if this was meant to be a joke, but I think it's pretty clear he's saying that no one in the US government is talking about actually accepting the offer.
