Spring ISD has gone down the ****ter over the last decade or so. My wife taught there until a few years ago. School board is totally corrupt. Wayne Dolchinfino did a bunch of stories on them a few years ago regarding board members taking numerous extravagant "fact-finding" trips to all kinds of exotic destinations - all on taxpayer funds, of course. It's turned into one of the worst districts in the area.
My fault, sources telling me it was 2 men entered and did the stabbing in retaliation of little brother getting killed. It was a popular teen killed and now two dead. More retaliation will come, gang related
Sadly, this is true in my opinion. I remember when Spring was considered a good place to go to school, but that's been a long time ago.
The west side of Spring, closer to Klein aren't bad. The decline of Spring ISD started around 2005. Katrina really hurt the district and there are too many apartments in one area. The vast unincorporated North and NW sides is like a giant lawless.wasteland.imo..
As someone who went to a Spring ISD high school (both Westfield and Dekaney) don't let the area fool you. Spring isd is a POS school district that's gone downhill since Ralph draper took over as superintendent years ago. Like another poster said, they are corrupt and the students aren't the brightest of the bunch whatsoever
Agreed. Spring ISD was consistently state recognized for its academic excellence for a long period of time, but once the new school board/corrupt regime took over in the mid 2000s, performance rapidly began to tumble. It's a shame to see how much that area has changed in the past 5 years. I'm a 2006 graduate of Westfield, which was considered the "more ghetto" school at the time, but at least we didn't have any senseless stabbings or shootings during my tenure. What a very sad waste of life.
Just moved to the area/school district. It looks like 80% of the area is good while the other 20% is section 8 government trash. Its damn shame that they have to build affordable housing here to spread the ghetto
^^^^^My sentiments exactly!!! I think categorizing a whole school district/area/neighborhood is ill-advised. There are a lot of good people/kids who live,work, and go to school in these areas who are being thrown under the bus for no reason whatsoever! Just in this thread I'm sure there's at least one person who has done something that would shock or offend you, does this mean all of CF are low-life's? I think by enlarge the majority of people on this board are good hardworking people, and then there are the exception's... ....... ....... .......
Sheriff Garcia: 4 confirmed victims, one deceased. Started at approximately 7:10AM. 3 persons of interest. All victims and persons of interest were of Spring ISD. This may have been gang-related. Deceased victim 17 years of age.
I believe the demographics of Spring I.S.D is mainly African American. Not sure the race of the victims and suspects if that matters.
