I used a paid vpn service. http://privateinternetaccess.com which allows you to switch locations. There are other paid services that allow the same. Hotspot shield sucks, and if you disagree, you're cheap.
I used Hotspot because it was recommended on this site last year. Would you run the setup the same way? 1. Cleaner 2. VPN 3 LP Is there a way to fix that jumpy feed LP receives sometime? Thanks.
Anybody bought this service: Comcast month-to-month (no contract) Regular service (which would include the Rockets games) HD One TV No internet or phone, just TV DVR _____ Anyone? I know their month-to-month TV service claims to be $39 BUT They do not mention anything about DVR for that service one way or the other. I assume it's either unavailable unless you get their stupid 'triple-play' service, or else they are going to charge some kind of ridiculous premium for it. Anyone have that setup?
What exactly is Ballstream and how does it work? The website doesn't exactly go out of its way to make it seem legit. It even said that it has Xbox 360 compatibility, but I don't see how thats possible.
I was having the same issue, the way i fixed it was starting the link with the vpn and then turning off the vpn after i established the LP connection to the game. It didnt disconnect the LP connection and seemed to run much smoother.
Were you running that connect to computer only or to TV also? When I use my laptop, feed was fine. However, when I plug the hdmi into my tv, then the feed was not as smooth.
Have you used FilmOn.com player? I believe it works like Aereo in that they maintain an antenna farm through out the US and Europe. Provided you have an IP based in that market, you can watch all the local channels(Just VPN into whatever market the Rockets are playing). The nice part is that it is free.
Anybody else going to use www.ballstreams.com ($60 for entire season, every nba team game, no blackouts, 720P, and playoffs, and olympics, and draft)? Their www.hockeystreams.com has been a success since 2007 and a few of my friends who have used it have only said good things about it.
For any of you that are getting screwed over by CSN Houston and are using Champion Energy as your energy provider, you should drop them.
Nope will not be using ballstreams. Would rather pay for NBA League Pass + VPN which is a FOR SURE thing. Can not be shut down.
I never received a jumpy feed unless I was using Chrome or if you're talking about "Buffer", use a real VPN service and not HotSpot Shield.
Have not. NBA games aren't shown on local TV though unless it's ABC. I just checked the site and it appears to be local channels.
FWIW, the ballstreams website offers a $6.99 one-day access option and will credit that amount towards an extension, if you choose to do so. They will be charging $59.99 for 1 calender year of access until Oct 1 ($89.99 afterwards). I'll take one for the team and buy the one-day access during pre-season and let you guys know what it looks like. If this works out, it is a better option than LP + VPN because you can choose home or away broadcast, playoffs AND get tons of other bball streams (All-star game, summer league, etc.) Stay tuned...
Champion Energy is another company controlled by Jim Crane. I guess this matters if you want to escalate any hostility you have with Crane.
