Obama blatantly lies that he didn't set a red line in Syria

Technically, Obama is correct. The use of WMD is against international law. So that "line" was already established. Its a matter of whether countries are willing to acknowledge this international law/norm and to what extent they're willing to enforce it. Good response to what was clearly a loaded question by the reporter.

He is saying it is a line of international law that can not be crossed and he reiterated the point with his red line comment. Remember when chemical weapons use was banned like 100 years ago? Should we just let this go on?

The red line that Obama mentioned was a precident set by the international community. He is saying he did not aribitrarily make a tipping point. Either way he is sticking to his word by asking for action since the said red line has been crossed.

He has every right to deflect critics taking his statement as purely his. He is standing alone while other places are turning a blind eye to something that has been banned for almost a century.

 

He's adjusting his stance and allowing for flexibility in deciding whether or not to take military action. Are you really so desperate for negative press against a politically opposing Commander in Chief that you'd recklessly throw soldiers or foreign private citizens in harms way without weighing the pros and cons?
