I know that not everyone has to have played a decent level of basketball to give their opinion but come on. In any college, even a terrible one, hell even in any playground, lol, you pass to the open man and cutter. It keeps everyone moving sharp, motivated, and ultimately a much better team. Especially the point guard. He can be the leading scorer, fine, of course if he's the best option but him not being able to see open shooters, cutters, or missing passes because he is too short to get it over the defense is not excusable just because he is on a bad team. Ridiculous to think so. I know a lot of people grew up in the And1 era but its just bad basketball.

    Parsons 71.4%
    Lin 50%
    Harden 24.4%
    Garcia 90%
    Bev 36%

Small sample size - especially for Lin.

This is ridiculous. Amin was fat and unathletic. They are absolutely nothing alike

According to him he was just doing what his coach said

He's a smart kid and knows his place - even if he can't pronounce

Everything I see about Canaan makes me think of Lowry with better range (if he turns into that I'd be really happy).

He is big, strong, can shoot 3s and can drive. If he can have a bulldog attitude like Lowry and learn how to pass decent (doesn't have to be a great passer with Harden on the team controlling the ball), then Rockets will have a lot of use for him.

wasn't the tag 'ready to play' used to describe PPat during draft time?

A scouting report video showed that he is a very poor and unmoivated defender. He also jumps with two feet when laying the ball up or puting it back. His passing skills are weak and the video scouting reported that his court vision leaves a lot to be desired. He's a shooter that's about it.

And Patterson played a lot in his rookie season. Thus being ready to play.

So true! A player that doesn't pass is just a chucker.

Being ready to play, as a second round draft pick, is a HUGE steal...

So is the summary "The Rockets drafted a PG who realistically is suited for the SG position, but lacks 5 inches of height to be valuable at that position"?

He's gonna break necks in the D-league. Really wish there were more minutes to go around so Canaan could get some PT but at this point he's like 7th man in the guard rotation....

So, if Canaan was just this guy (from draft express):
