But did you know the Texans had the greater time of possession? The offense wasn't giving the ball right back...the defense was just giving up quick scores.

the 3rd quarter is where the game was lost, here are the plays in order with ToP..

    Pats TD - 3:30
    Texans 3 & Out - 1:43

    Pats 3 & Out - 0:57
    Texans INT - 4:36

    Pats TD - 2:53
    Texans failed 4th & 1 from own 33 (inc pass)- 3:08

    Pats TD - 0:05
    Texans TD - 1:32

    Pats 3 & Out - 1:37
    Texans TD - 4:47

the only quick TD was the their final TD, where they started from the texans 33. im not surprised we led in ToP, we all know how this offense operates.. that final texans TD showed zero sense of urgency, look how much time the texans offense ate up and accomplished nothing..

I wont stop doubting Schaub, until he brings us a SB.

Texans probably had a greater time of possession due to being slow as hell on offense.. which is an indictment on not just Schaub, but Kubiak as well. Those fools were walking to the LOS like they had all day when they KNEW they needed quick scores. Who does that?

Matt deserves credit if he plays well nationally no matter the caliber of opponent (SD). It's a positive step in the right direction because he's been subpar regardless the team. He barely outplayed Sanchez last year. Matt doesn't get the benefit of the doubt though until he plays consistently better in big/national games.

Not sure why anyone would rank him that high. All he does is hand the ball off and occaisonally throw a play action pass. If the Texans don't have a nice lead going into the 4th quarter then its pretty much game over for us. Schaubs ability to take over a game is non-existent.

    Laughable.

    Brady wasn't trying.

It has never happened. With the regression of Johnathan Joseph it will never happen.

    Actually, I'll be the first.

Not elite, but big game players:
    Big Ben
    Eli
    Flacco

    Eli >>>>>>Schaub

When Eli won his SECOND Super Bowl the Giants were dead last in rushing. That's right dead last.

Could you imagine Schaub with a running game that's dead last in the league? :(:(:(

    He's good, not great.

Yeah, we pretty much saw that in 2009 when we had the 30th ranked running game (in both yards and ypa).

Let's see, Matt Schaub led the league in yards, was 5th in ypa, and 7th in QB rating.

Not only did Schaub have a crappy running game, but he had one of the worst defenses in history....at least Eli had a defense that was capable of shutting down the Patriots offense.

So yeah, I can imagine Schaub with a crappy running game...he's actually better when he can unleash, rather than playing in a conservative offense.

Didn't schaub have his best year when he had no running game?

lol why don't you just bandwagon to one of these elite qb's team?
your elite guys will not win a superbowl in the near future until they have a defense. And if they can't find defensive players in the early and middle rounds, they will be capped out with no room to sign defensive stud free agents. the elitist of elite qbs can't win you a string of games no matter what you what cooler fantasy dorks want to believe. One game yes.

schaub with no running game and a defense would do enough damage to lose to the jets, like brady did. they can't stop a nose bleed! can't wait. get over yourself and understand football and more importantly playoff football is a TEAM game. smh at fantasy dorks.

Brees is great but he can't get to playoffs without a defense.

Brady is great but he can't win a superbowl without his defense and him taking the fetal position to better defenses.

Rodgers is great but he can't win a superbowl without bj playing out of this world, and running the ball at 4.5 avg by committee/

Peyton manning is great but...he shouldn't even count considering his track record during "nut up" time.

Have defenses been stacking the box more nowadays vs Matt's big year? Hopkins can spread them making the run game more lethal.

I've seen him make many great passes, unfortunately the players in the sidelines aren't eligible receivers.

Seems a lot of folks in here are still pouting that they were wrong about VY and their criticism is misdirected.

    You know you who are.

    Since 2002

    Schaub without a running game?
    No playoffs
    Career high in interceptions
    Less than 30tds
    Less than 2:1 td:int ratio

    Perspective.

2009: Texans ranked 30th in rushing.
Schaub: 4,770 yards (1st in the NFL).
29 TDs (5th in NFL) -only 4 QBs had >30
    98.6 Rating (7th in NFL)

It was the only time Schaub had ZERO running game and I don't see anyone can say missing the playoffs that year was his fault.
