Traditionally finance/accounting to get into an analysts position. My wife, for example, is a Sr. Financial Analyst and was an accounting major.

Finance majors tend to get squeezed out if their GPA is too low or they lack sufficient accounting hours; too many accounting majors who don't want a CPA or just get bored after a few years, and non-business majors aren't really aware of salaried, professional-level marketing, supply chain or management jobs, so they all apply for finance and inflate the candidate pool. Since a lot of the stuff is firm and function specific and can be learned on the job, they just draft the best player available regardless of major.

I usually recommend people major in Accounting, as it's the most flexible of the business majors.

I'm an accounting major, and I've worked in industry as an accountant, for a CPA firm as an auditor, nearly was pulled into marketing to help with the spending analysis and budgeting.

My wife was an accountant, moved to analysis, and just turned down a controller's position.

I've never worked with someone who majored in Management Information Systems. My wife double majored Accounting/Management.
