I'm the same in my league. I absolutely feasted on WR's. Only have 3 RB's Richardson, Reggie bush, and Ryan Matthews. So I'll have to fix that at some point I'm sure. But I have: A.J. Green Demaryius Thomas Randle Cobb Torrey Smith Miles Austin
What a coincidence I have Trent and Bush as my RB's too in my 14 team league. My WR's are Marshall Colston Garcon E. Sanders Lafell I say start Stafford. Give RG3 a couple of weeks to get back into it. But Stafford week 1 is the safer pick.
IMO, you did well. The only guy I don't like on your team is Pierre Thomas which is a wasted pick. I would have taken Brady's Thompkins.
your wr aren't really that deep or great. Green and Thomas are studs, but Cobb, Smith and Austin are just average guys that *could* be great. As an example, Aaron Rodgers likes to mix it up from year to year so Cobb's value as a #1 doesn't hold a lot of water with me. James Jones could just as well be the #1 target as cobb. Smith is going to be double teamed a lot this year because flacco's weapons have been limited, so I don't expect him to be great. and Miles Austin is probably the 3rd receiver behind witten and bryant. Not a feast.
You've got great depth at wideout. Your backs aren't too bad either. The only runt of the group is Matthews, this guy stays injured so much that the coaching staff is limiting his touches just to prevent the opportunity of injuries. Plus his offensive line is horrendous. Don't see a big year for him at all. Cobb will be #1 this year the only question will be health to his shoulder injury, hopefully that does not affect his play throughout the year.
Hey flash, go look at my strategy on the previous page and tell me what you think about it. I'm trying something new this year. It's my 3qb draft strategy.
well for me my opinion holds more weight weight over yours. I'm not saying Cobb is going to be on Durant's level. Joking... But I do think Cobb has a chance catch 100 balls through this year. And I think a.j. green, dez Bryant, and d. Thomas all have a chance to be the #1 receiver in the league this year and I have two of them. And smith should hit 1000 yards.
don't get me wrong, ANYBODY would be satisfied with a receiving core like this one. It's strong. My main gripe about is that I would not get overly happy about Cobb, Austin and Smith just yet. Cobb and Smith could be solid #2's, or they could be flex players. I don't think any of them can be #1's in the league. I'm just being picky, I guess because you seemed so confident about your choices!
Here is my roster. I have decided to start Stafford over Griffin at least for the first 2-3 weeks unless RG3 goes nuts before then. I'm also leaning on starting Dwayne Bowe over Randall Cobb since GB plays SF but no 100% sure yet. Any thoughts or ideas? QB- Matthew Stafford WR- Roddy White WR- Dwayne Bowe RB- Trent Richardson RB- LeSean McCoy TE- Greg Olsen WR/T- Pierre Garcon K- Matt Prater Def- San Francisco D- Jerrell Freeman Bench QB- Robert Griffin WR- Randall Cobb RB- Lamar Miller TE- Martellus Bennett RB- Chris Ivory WR- Greg Jennings
My first time playing. Wanted some opinions from more knowledgeable players. I thought that was the whole point of this thread.
Yeah it is my first time playing also I don't really know what I'm doing. I also really lucked out on the team I have, and am probably over confident on that though haha
I think the only thing that concerns me is Pierre Garcon, but then I would put him on the bench and use Cobb anyways. Pretty solid team though.
Yeah that strategy has been proven to handicap the opposition but not to benefit your own circumstances. I had a guy draft Peyton, RGIII, and Luck in the first 4 rounds. I being one of the guys that was using the wait for a QB strategy was left with no choice at the position. I was lucky enough to make a trade for Eli and Trent Richardson. Still the damage was done. I see why you would do that but unless u plan on using a guy for trade bait I don't see the strategy benefiting you even though you'll probably leave one guy shorthanded. I'm down on Wilson this year would go Luck instead if you plan on using this scheme.
That is the one downside to it (you help others but not yourself); plus, in my league, trading is not allowed. I've talked myself into believing that having 2 elite qbs can work in fantasy. One of the main reasons is that most of the time half of my roster spots aren't even used on a regular basis. I have 20 spots on this team, so really it is matter of if you feel that between the 49th pick in the draft and the 72nd pick in the draft that you are really losing a major piece to your team. I believe that there are pluses and minuses here, but I still like the idea, especially with matchups, injuries, bye weeks and catch other teams with there qb on a bye week (if you get lucky like that) it can be a major advantage to your team.
