Dude Hank is the worst. He doesn't care about anything other than his selfish pursuits, not even the rest of Walt's family. He said it in the first episode the 2nd half of the season.
You need to check your moral compass if you think Hank is the worst. Who he cares about is irrelevant. It's what these people have done that matters.
What if Walt poisons Hank with the ricin and Marie gets blamed b/c she told her shrink (as well as looking up poisons on the Internet)?
I still want Walt to win in the end, living happily ever after. But I don't see it happening. This has Shakespearean tragedy written all over it. Hank made a pretty good case for why Jesse should still think Walt cares about him. Its like he made the same case Walt intended to make in their meeting. I thought that was kind of ironic.
In the last 3 or so episodes, my dislike for Hank & Marie has greatly increase. I no longer cared if they are left standing at the end of the series. I don't get the Jesse has break "good" that everyone is talking about. He has self interest just like everyone else. He cares for Brock & Brock's mom, just like Walt cares for his family, how is that love better or more pure than Walt's? If he really break good, he should be trying to reconnect with his family. Clean up his act. Take care of Brock and his girl friend. Use the money to help the needy or something, instead of just throwing it out the car window. Go back to apologize to the rehab group. He isn't all bad, but he is no angel and he hasn't break good. Vince said he think people will find a satisfying ending, I just don't see how. Pretty much everyone is going to die, the way I see it. Is that really a satisfying ending? IMHO, this is what should happen to each person: Walt - Dies. He has broken bad. Done too many wrong things, don't see anyway to redeem himself at this point. He is still my favorite character on the show since day 1. One thing that has never changed since the beginning was that he loved the ones that are close him. Hank & Jesse have both pushed him to the limit, yet he didn't consider killing them. I hope when he said "Contact Todd & his uncle, I MAY have a job for them.", he doesn't mean killing, however, it looks more likely it will go that direction. Jesse - Dies. I think he is too messed up at this point to turn around. As I said before, I never believe he broke good, we were just being shown the "good" side of him, which many characters in this show have. He is my 2nd favorite character, but in the last few episodes, I really started to dislike his character. At least uncle Tio is not a snitch and he went out in a blaze of glory. Something that I don't see Jesse will have. Hank - Dies. I liked him until the last few episodes where we see his obsession. Does he really want Walt because he is public enemy or is it more of a pride thing. Walt got over on him and he just want to catch him even if another person (Jesse) has to die. I really lost my fondness for Hank when he is willing to allow Jesse die. I think the show wanted us to dislike Hank at this point. Marie - Dies Never really liked her character. Feel like she is there as a filler most of the time. Both her & Hank can stand and judge others while not really looking at themselves in the mirror. Poisoning another person (Walt) to save the kids in the name of protecting them, how is that much different than what Walt has been doing? Killing is killing, killing less people doesn't make you a better person. Skyler - Dies I was sympothetic for her most of the series, even through the IFT part. But suggesting Walt to kill Jesse makes her another bad person. Too bad, Holly needs at least one parent. Jr. - Dies He dies because I believe that is what it will take for Walt to go full scarface. He definately don't deserve it. I never cared much for his story line in the whole series. I though it was fillers just like Marie. Holly - Lives I don't think they have the guts to kill off the little child. I could be wrong here. Saul - Lives I think he should die too because of sliminess and suggested to kill Hank & Jesse, but he has another show to do, so I don't see him dieing. Of course the show could be a prequel, but I don't think it would be as interesting. Gomez - Lives He might be dumb, but he hasn't done anything wrong. He even questions Hank about letting Jesse die. Maybe he will be the only one left standing at the end. Lydia - Dies I don't think there was any doubt. Todd, uncle, & friends - Die Unlike Scarface, I don't see any bad guys left standing at the end of the show.
This seemed like a drawn out episode with pacing capitalizing on the tension...probably because, as mentioned above, Marie and Flynn racking up the filler time. I don't see why every major has to have a sympathetic and absolute good quality to root for. Skyler is totally numb beyond belief with the enormity of the monster and lies she has to live with. The whole Ted episode and its resolution was her main fall arc. To me that totally destroyed whatever chance Skyler would Break Good. Hank and Marie feel betrayed, manipulated, totally outmatched and powerless against Walt. Hank is putting everything he is on the line to redeem his self worth as a person. Marie's self destructive narcissism has been consumed by revenge through Walt and Skyler's mountain of betrayal. The way Walt played them may have exposed them to the fact that they're the supporting characters in the dynamic rather than Walt and Skyler. Don't know about Gomez. Don't really care that much. Maybe we get to see another decapitated head on a turtle just for him. The DEA has been portrayed as hacks without any chops to do real work outside of cracking the skulls of pawns and front line grunts. I feel bad for Flynn though I don't care much for the character but rather what he symbolizes. I think they're upping the Flynn time so that he can die a horrible death in front of Walt's eyes. Maybe a Gale redux with a bullet in Jr's face by Jessie's hand. Flynn becoming a meth head would be something. The whole destruction of the Jessie-Walt relationship means that Walt will lean pretty hard on Jr to tether his humanity, but that comes with a consequence because of Walt's duality, which is possibly why he refrained from killing Jessie for so long despite Jessie's constant ****ups. Jessie was his partner in crime and at times a confidant to the grizzlier aspects Walter couldn't share with his real family. Jr learning that his father's the kingpin of evil would be delicious to watch as it unfurls. It would also be fitting if Saul doesn't die. The Jessie beatdown is probably the only violence p*rn people will see on that guy. Lawyers are evil and a dime a dozen. Like the classic Satan archetype, he's more of a facilitator than an actor that can be truly destroyed. Without Saul, there would be no stage to keep things going. Yet it's not Saul that's the smoking gun....Lawyers don't kill people... If Breaking Bad wanted to up the cheese (aka ruin the ending), they'd somehow let the DEA bust Lydia and take down the international meth ring as a result. That'd be too positive and neat and go against the prevailing theme of the Bad getting away with perfect crimes, leaving tons of destruction in its wake only to embolden the perps to escalate even further. As for who I'm rooting for, I still want Walter to get away with it all. Man's a ****ing mastermind and it's awesome to witness. Doesn't mean I want him to have a happy ending or anything. P.S. A Babylon 5 reference!
Some theory on Reddit about next weeks possible intro: This would fit the bill nicely. I'd love for the hit to be on Walt and not on Jesse like we all expect.
Interesting, I'm down with that. I somehow still would not like for Walt to put out a hit on Jesse. I'm "ok" with Jesse wanting and actually killing Walt, but not the other way around. If they are going to fake a death, it means another person dieing because of Walt.
What's with people predicting Walt jr goes on meth? The kid can barely walk/speak and he's suppose to get addicted to meth? C'mon meow. Seems way too cliche. That's something I'd expect for a show on ABC. Ain't no point in guessing what's going to happen anymore. I get it wrong every week lol
Well, since Walt has turned to Todd I bet he gets lured back into cooking for them and that leads to Hank getting the proof he needs. Just guessing tho...
Totally agree. I think Jesse is gonna confront Walt jr in the next episode and let him know what's up
