Black people should not have babies out of wedlock, commit crimes, or avoid college. Those are the solutions to those problems.
I've heard that before, but not enough. Jessie has enough political clout though. His son ran for political office and ended up in a similar disgraceful standing IIRC. Kinda wonder why jokers like him are still around. It's not because white people prop him up.
Actually the lazy stereotype does come out of nowhere or at least out of nowhere with any credibility. Buying into stereotypes is silly.
You're overcompensating now and inserting irrelevant and dubious information. Jackson and Sharpton are as close to black leaders as there have been since MLK; the hitch is that as opportunities have opened up, individual blacks' interests and priorities have diverged and expanded beyond the scope Jackson or Sharpton's urban and lower income target audience. Despite low income, urban blacks no longer comprising a majority of the race; they still represent the most residentially and politically unified sector of the black population, so combined with that association and the enhanced media access of large cities; Jackson and Sharpton have maintained their prominence. Incidentally for all your contortions in attempting to dissociate yourself from these two, all your pan-"African" hooey comes right out of their camp.
He does have a loyal following....and he does an excellent job of getting in front of cameras and getting people to listen to his opinions. Never been a big fan of his....even when I was younger, something about him just seemed "off". Now I know why
Yes it does. Read this history of African slaves and their descendants in the new world. Many things were said about them....sometimes contradictory things.
Not sure if sarcastic or not but this is basically what the thread has turned into. Even when the stats that people relied on to push these stereotypes are proven to be flimsy people just plug their ears and say it over and over again as if it makes it true. Then on top of that can't even begin to explain WHY they actually say the things they said. Not directed at you though since I don't even know if that was sarcasm or not. Just wanted it to be clear that no one countered anything I posted on the previous page.
Look im not a racist im just answering the threads question, black people are the only ones ive ever had to think twice about saying "you people" or "they" around.
And you better be real clever if you want to say anything negative to a black guy because whether it's legitimate criticism, petty insults or just some immature jokes, it will probably be interpreted as racism and the white people around you will agree with him that you're racist.
Black man walks into a restaurant and gets looks from a few people and its racial injustice. White dude walks into a gym and tries to play a pickup game, he gets roasted by everyone in the gym. Cole world, no blankets yo...
Well if you expect to say "You people are lazy." and not get any backlash then that would make you the sensitive one wouldn't it? Y Yeah, again if your "Legit" criticism is anything along the lines of black people being less intelligent, lazy, criminals then you should expect something back. It seems the real sensitive ones are the ones that want to make racial comments or jokes and expect to not get any backlash back.
What are you even talking about? Do you possess any reading comprehension skills at all? You seem to be already in the mindset that everyone and everything they say must be motivated by racism, that a hardworking person can't say "You're lazy" to a lazy person without it somehow being about race. Please rewire your brain before responding again.
Lol wat? As usual resort to personal insults because you can't handle grown up discussion. Do you have reading comprehension skills? I thought this was about a entire RACE and not a single person? Reread my response please and actually understand what was written. It wasn't about a PERSONAL insult. It was about a RACIAL one. There is a big difference between saying "You are lazy." and "You people are lazy." If you don't understand the difference then blame your own ignorance.
Also that response wasn't even directed at you, but man you got pretty defensive about it lulz. Some sensitive people in here.
I just want to know what are the solutions for solving the problems facing African Americans. As far as I know, the well known leaders such as Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson do not have any practical solutions that work.
