Getting Mathews in the 8th round is value, I don't care what anybody says.

Mathews will be better than Gio Bernard and probably Lamar Miller and Shane Vereen as well.

Mathews has a lot of talent, and he racked up like 1500 all purpose yards 2 years ago, something Vereen, Miller and Bernard haven't even sniffed.

I get that people have been burned by Mathews in the past, but it isn't like he's Darren Mcfadden or Kenny Britt, guys who have never reached their potential before and are bonehead's year after year.

I have by far the best group of WRs in the league and one of the best qbs. As long as I can find ONE rb, I guarantee I make the finals

He's had the same number of 1,000+ yard seasons as McFadden and just like him, is on a team that has lots of problems. And he's never played a complete season. Getting him in the 8th I can agree is value, but getting him as your RB2 is trouble.

    rb. for surrrreeeee....

its not even debatable really. you could end up with anyone from foster/spiller/rice/mccoy/morris/martin.

much more value to target a qb in the later rds. cant find a starting rb late

    doesnt effect my answer.

by you third rd pick any semblence of a quality rb is going to be devoured and your going to have to rely on mathews or mcfadden or such...

    ap/foster/mcoy/lynch/morris/rice/martin/charles/richardson/spiller

thats 10 rbs. get two great starting rbs. and than target wr b2b in 3/4.

turn around and grab another rb in 5.

than play off of value. qb/wr/rb/te is all up to you by than.

i wouldnt. qbs have been going late this year. you could have any of romo/stafford/ryan/capernik/wilson/rg3/newton anywhere in the 8-10 range

Other than the 10 or so running backs that can produce 15 point averages, the rest are just like Mathews: with some kind of problem. Yeah, you might get lucky and draft Lamar Miller and he'll have 1500 yards this year, but there will be plenty of guys that won't do squat.

Look at my strategy going into the draft for example (12 team league, 20 rounds, 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1flex, dt, k - ppr) :

I'm picking 12th, dead last and my strategy is to take 3 qb with my first 6 picks in the draft. Why?

Because I feel that if I draft the #1 point producer in fantasy (which will obviously come from the qb position) I need to make sure that the other 12 teams have an average qb which will add a TRUE value gap between my player and theirs. I also plan on doing this with the te position which is also thin this year.

    Here an example:
    (12) Demaryus Thomas
    (13) Jimmy Graham
    (24) Peyton Manning
    (48) Cam Newton
    (49) Steve Smith
    (72) Russell Wilson
    (73) Golden Tate

Or something like that. Then I can go for guys like Helu, Daryl Richardson, Mark Ingram, Bryce Brown, etc

Also, the other thing I plan to do is to draft players strategically. If i can get say Tom Brady's best target on the cheap (while retaining my qb's best target) then, in those weeks where I have to face Drew Brees, if I can trot out Stills and Graham, I've effectively taken away his best offensive point producer.

Basically, my strategy all comes down to pitting Peyton Manning and Demaryus Thomas against there rbs and lets see who wins.

Really like lynch/Morris, good value. Looks like you have 3 solid 2nd tier receivers. Good boom prospects in Hilton and gio.

Seems similar to my 8 league team.

I would start pretty much how you drafted in order. Until you get a feel for the players and teams and opportunities. I usually play week 1 safe.

Should I start RG3 or Stafford? Having a hard time deciding.
