Is there a way we can trade Matt Schaub for Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers? Problem solved.

mistake free like missing wide open receivers for tds in the playoffs or kneeing the ball out of his own hands when running with no one within five yards of him in the playoffs. he could have lost the bengals game

you don't have to admit he sucks just admit he is limited. he is the biggest question mark as far as this team becoming a true contender

I'm convinced if Dalton does not slightly overthrow the wide open A.J Green for a touchdown near the end of the playoff game then Bengals win. Matt Schaub is a fine quarterback, however his play near the end of the season and the playoffs was god awful. Overall, the team collapsed but with steady QB play the team could've remained afloat at least. If the Matt Schaub of the end of last season continues to be the norm, then I can't see how anyone can be pro-Schaub at that point.

Yes, he has his limitations, but he is far from being the biggest question mark.

    Let's see...

Our running game was 16th last year in yards per attempt.
Our passing defense was ranked 16th last year.

Yet, our passing offense was 7th in the NFL. Schaub was top 10 in both YPA and rating.

Yes, lets focus more on the QB position than on our running game or passing defense (you know, the thing that is most important when facing Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, etc...).

Well, yeah, obviously....but you dont think Schaub's play at the end of the season is more of an aberration than anything else? I mean, let's not forget that for 5 years, he's been consistently solid.

I'm convinced had Casey not dropped the perfectly thrown certain TD pass against the Patriots, the Texans win that game.

I think playcalling has been mentioned, but lets mention it again

Have to admit the offensive PLAYCALLING has been VERY GOOD in the preseason. Its making ANY QB behind center look good Yates and Keenum especially. AND its making all the non-Foster RBs look decent.

Its on Keenum to still execute, but I think the SYSTEM is a big part whats helping him along now. It was on Yates himself to fail for Keenum to get his real chance. And (good for the team) Yates didnt

    --
    And semi-related:
GOSH if Keenum beats Southern Miss in 2011 and goes undefeated that season, this thread would be way more lively.
Case really blew a chance at "Keenumania" (Or "Keenumsanity" to fit into whats going on in the Houston sports scene) THAT GAME ALONE dulled excitement of Keenum.

and if the Broncos D didn't let Jacoby Jones catch that hail mary no one would be putting Flacco in the "elite"category. it's not like all of a sudden he changed his play from the previous years. oh, what was Peyton Manning doing throwing an INT in overtime?

So I haven't bothered to wade through this mess of tired Schaub debate. Did Keenum leepfrog Yates on the depth chart or not?

I think people throw around the term choker too liberally. It's usually said by people who have never been in any kind of high stakes competitive arena.

I agree too, he could have waited till after the season to make the decision. The team learned about it before the game and the air went out of the tires. Look how they rebounded against Penn State. If Sumlin would have thought about UH first the team would have gone undefeated. He took care of himself. Now Manziel is doing to him what he did to us.

    19, including the Texans.

Jets and Redskins have four QBs on their roster.

So it wouldn't be unusual for the Texans to keep both Keenum and Yates.
