Who saw this coming? He and you people set him up to fail. He believed his own **** smelled so good and couldn't be humble about it. Sports Gods saw that and struck his ass. At least you got some decent memories to remind yourselves in the middle of the night when you wish that was him you're spooning with instead of your wife.

If you're the Jets and Ryan, would you sign the guy and just throw him out there for the first few weeks, until maybe Geno is sort of maybe kind of ok to play in the NFL? Just tank the season?

I don't think Rex Ryan can afford to tank a season - he's probably in his last unless something good happens.

I can't imagine anyone pursuing Vince at this point, but Oakland would be the one possible fit. Their two QBs seem wretched, and the coach needs to win and win soon. Vince may not do that, but his improvising is likely as good as their regular offense, so who knows if he can pull off a few miracles - they probably lose with their current QBs anyway.

Barring that, I don't see another team out there that would make sense - at least not right now.

Huh? Oakland is in complete rebuild mode right now. They are much better off seeing what they have in Pryor (who by all accounts worked hard this off season) then signing a guy like Young who either can't or doesn't care to learn the plays. Not to mention they kept 4 QBs

They are always in rebuilding mode, but their coach is also always on the hotseat. Of their last 6 coaches, only 1 lasted more than 2 seasons, and that guy lasted 3. At some point, they need to actually win some games. Pryor looks completely clueless, and Flynn doesn't seem much better. If neither is the long-term solution and implode the first few weeks, then the coach might take a cheap veteran QB to save his job while looking for a new long-term QB solution. As I said, not likely, but it's probably the only place where there might be any kind of fit at all.

When you say "The coach might take a cheap veteran QB to save his job" are implying that VY (who's been cut three times in the last couple of yrs as a back up QB) might be the guy who could save the coaches job?

If your alternative is Terrelle Pryor who might lead you to 0-16, then yeah.

They showed several videos of him at the horns game on the jumbotron.
    99,000 people cheered.

Orange nation still loves you Vince. Never care what those who went to the lesser schools say.

The GM change is significant though because for the first time the Raiders seem to have some sort of direction. They rid themselves of a lot of bad contracts and are positioned to have cap space. They don't want to win games this year. They want to pick first so they can select Bridgewater. Pryor actually looked like a carbon copy of VY this preseason. Made plays with his legs and improvised but when he needed to stay in the pocket and actually read the defense he faltered. Flynn is terrible. He made his money off one good game against a horrible defense (I'm a Lions fan btw) but he's their "veteran presence" at QB. VY just doesn't fit there either. Reality is that much like Tebow he's probably played his last NFL game. For the record I'm not a VY hater at all. I always wished him the best because he's very supportive of the city of Houston but he's just not a good NFL QB.

He's trying to be nice, we all know how well Vince takes criticism.

They have their man, dropped Coleman and picked up a run first QB as the back up. Some dude from the niners preseason roster.

Although, the harshest thing so far was that quote someone posted earlier, about how Vince "stinks". Not being able to run plays, and basically runs around doing his own thing.

Yeah that's him.....just saw your post lol.

Vince was a hell of a college player, where his athleticism was all he needed.

Great college career. In a way it was both a blessing and a curse. He bought into his own hype and never progressed at all. He's still the same player now (with diminished athleticism) as he was in college. Obviously wasn't there mentally either.

Never heard a coach or GM say anything but positive stuff about a guy they cut. That just isn't how things are done in the league.
