They tried on the fourth down play. And Ross was smacked down in the backfield. They had a nice day running the ball. But the defense seems to have adjusted. Although pointless since they can't stop the Aggies on offense.
These ESPN announcers are getting ridiculous. Manziel is apparently responsible for everything short of cancer and world hunger.
Seeing as how this started when he first came in, he's not the one who started this. Blaming Hall's ejection on Manziel? That is hilarious, announcers.
Sounds like something a lot of folks said after Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss put up a lot of points on A&M's defense last year. Tell me, how'd that Bama-A&M game end up? Everyone knows I'm always on the lookout for bad officiating, but even by my standards, that unsportsmanlike conduct penalty exclusively on Manziel was ridiculous. There was no contact. There were no props or anything out of the ordinary. It was jawing between three players, and the two Rice players were dishing as much to Manziel as he was giving to them. The ref stood right there and saw it, too. But he unilaterally chose to hold Manziel to a different standard, for obvious reasons. Bitter, little man syndrome. Not saying Manziel didn't deserve the penalty, because he did, but it should've been one on both sides.
Bull**** "targeting" call and a bigger bull**** ejection. He didn't lead with the crown of the helmet, which is the crux of the call. But I guess that's Manziel's fault.
Psst.... 6 starters are suspended... A&M allowed other crappy teams to put up some numbers on them last year. But we all know how that season went.
Well manziel did turn around again and walked back towards the rice players after he was already walking away. I think that is where the flag came in and not that the refs were out to get him. And yes, manziel (the leader) losing his cool does have trickle down effects to leader teammates. Especially a freshman.
Congrats Ags! Once everyone's back, y'all should dominate the SEC again. With our body bag game out of the way, I'm looking forward to the rest of the season
Because they were still jawing at him. The Rice players have every bit as much responsibility to "walk away" as Manziel does -- the play was a touchdown, so different units were coming on the field. Manziel started walking away, while the Rice players stayed there and kept yelling. Not saying Manziel is innocent, because he isn't. But by any standard, the two Rice players were every bit as responsible for what happened and equally "unsportsmanlike". EDIT: You can see the GIF here... the Rice player CONTINUES TO FOLLOW and talk trash to Manziel, even after he turns his back and heads to A&M's sideline. http://thebiglead.com/2013/08/31/jo...lebration-after-td-pass/#sthash.pjznuE85.uxfs
Rice ran up over 500 yards on the Aggie defense! Better get it together before the SEC games start. It is a shame Manziel is goofy because he is a great football player. Not sure he is NFL bound after this season. Then what?
Manziel/A&M did that money hand sign last year. Of course people who don't follow A&M don't know that and will try to turn it into a story line. (Along with anything and everything else Manziel does.) Hey look, there's Manziel doing it last year! Spoiler And Ben Malena too! Spoiler And Malena today! Spoiler
Actually this is proof that sec defenses are overrated. Those offenses are largely terrible in the sec so it makes their defense look good. Wouldn't be surprised to see ATMs defense miraculously become good once they start playing conference games.
SkyrimOwns, is that you?? People continue to say this, and NFL scouts continue to prove that theory wrong.
Lol ... the A&M defense, which even us Aggies expect to be middle of the road in the sec, struggling with 6 starters out and playing tons of true freshman in their first game is proof that sec defenses are overrated? I tend to agree that Sec defenses are a little overrated, but this game is not an argument for that. That said, they are the best defensive league in the country without question. They are not untouchable though. A&M is hoping the defense can be decent enough to allow an outstanding offense to go out and win the game. No one has illusions of A&M winning 9-6 against Bama in 2 weeks because of our great D.
