Couldn't watch the game. ESPN3 was showing tennis for some reason.

Could anyone point out some things they noticed during the game?

Hopefully they can continue this throughout the season.

Lots of running and lots of holding. If we get this many holding calls during conference play games are gonna be over quickly

Was at the game, great atmosphere over there. Our band sucks so much compared to Southern University's

lmao, funny to see people think UH is relevant as a football program and a school

Not cool. People rooting for their team is what makes college football worthwhile. As far as being relevant as a school, after graduating from A&M, I went to law school at UH. That degree has served me very well.

You're right on the first part as U of H will never have the money for a football program. But you couldn't be more wrong about the second part, Houston is the biggest job market in the second largest state in the country; and has remained relevant as the energy industry has diversified from oil and gas into dozens of other commodities. This has necessitated the creation of entire sub-sectors of IT development and consulting, banking, engineering and construction, project finance, private equity and complex, structured derivatives trading: all of which have their largest companies and headquarters in Houston. By sheer virtue of their location, U of H will fill the ever growing demand for professional staff in one of most dynamic economies in the country.

Eh, I give you a 2/10 for that troll attempt. Next time try to at least be funny. I bet you go to SU, or TSU because even SFA and Sam Houston St. wont let you in.

Ryan Jackson looked great last night. He seemed to be a lot more confident this year and decisive with his cuts compared to last year.

Spencer was a weapon both on reverses and receiving last night. There were times last year where he got a case of the drops but anytime he makes the catch he is a threat to go the distance based on his running ability.

Piland was Piland and O'Korn is still a true freshman and I don't know if last night is a true enough test to know if he can be the starter this year. I think we need to see him adjust and see how much he improves by next week.

There were way too many penalties and that has to get cleaned up before next week. We can't have that many on the road and expect to win.

I am not sure what to make of the defense, but not getting much of a pass rush against Southern is a huge concern for me.

UH has injuries on the oline with Cloud missing last night and Oragwu's injury I haven't heard how bad it is yet but its not good for chemistry if we haven't settled on a group because of health concerns.

Levine hasn't won a road game as UH head coach so he has to have the team focused and ready to play next week for an early start time.
