FWIW, I bet Dwight was also pissed about the Lakers after seeing what the Clippers did for CP3. CP3 ran that team the moment he got there. The Clippers continuously added players CP3 wanted that fit their offense. They fired their coach and traded a 1st rounder to get CP3 the coach he wanted. What Chris Paul wanted, he got it. He's literally invincible in the minds of Clippers fans.

Then you have Howard, he who took the Magic to the finals and perennial DPOY/All-NBA 1st team. He got to the Lakers and had to listen to Kobe talking down on him, Nash talking down on him, a team that is old, broken down and fit Dwight's talent as bad possible with lack of shooters. Then he had to deal with D'Antoni, fans who hate him, media who criticize his every move, and ownership that basically told him "You are 2nd banana to Kobe."

It's pretty amazing to see the difference in perception between CP3 and Howard in LA.

There are very few talented players that can perform, lead, and play alongside Kobe Bryant. I respect Pau a lot for being able to do that.

got a question... are online ticket prices so high because the season hasent started yet .. or is it because the expectations are so high for us?! because the prices have sky rocketed up

I don't think they know yet what the market will be like(because its been so long since the Rockets were a star studded team) for Rockets tickets so its probably smarter for them to start high, and lower the prices later on if they are seeing lower than expected ticket sales.

I would be willing to bet that they might not lower face value ticket prices, but you will see some heavily discounted ticket specials as the season progresses for the games they are having trouble selling out.

You can also call the ticket sales office, and ask them to alert/email you when ticket specials become available.

Tickets are already being sold at a freaky high volume. I just bought half-season tickets like two weeks ago because season tickets in the BETTER area were all already sold out.

Obviously lower-class teams will have seats for sold 2nd hand, etc., but I think capacity was at 70% already. They have to reserve some for group seats, so that's your best bet...that no one buys group seats, the Rockets need to fleece them.

Outside of that your best bet is 2nd hand. I've put some of mine up for sale for anything that's a little more than face value. I paid $90 per ticket.

What? When CP3 became a Clipper, he became their face.

When Dwight became a Laker, Kobe was still there. The Lakers aren't going to move Kobe over to make room for Dwight, not until Kobe retires.

That's apples to oranges. CP3 took over 2nd/3rd year Blake's position, Dwight wasn't going to take Kobe's prestigious position.

    This.

Comparing the two scenarios makes no sense.

While I agree with you - they still did nothing to make Howard feel welcome. They treated him basically like any other FA acquisition. They blamed him when they didn`t play well and never treated him like their future face of the franchise. I think they could`ve kept him if they (including Kobe) would have done several thins differently.

But I am fine with the way things turned out.

I'm loving seeing the Lakers shop sink...couldn't of happened to a nicer bunch of guys. ( Steve Nash not included)

I'm not sure why you're arguing against me. I basically said the same thing. Why would Dwight want to stay with the Lakers being 2nd fiddle when he saw a similar(if not lesser in Dwight's mind) player being treated much better in the same city?

This thread is so epic to read back on!!

I remember i went to bed the night before (being from Australia) because i had work the next day. Stayed up till about 4:30 am and was convinced he was headed to GSW (Utah trade had just landed.)

Woke up the next day and ran into my brothers room yelling we got him, then going to work on 3 hours sleep happy as ever. I was serving customers with a smile and asking them about their mornings...

Then the ESPN BS starts and i'm in a furious mood, getting pissed whenever a customer came in and basically hating my life.

To only thenb land him again haha.. Reading this back was awesome, such a good moment getting Howard...

What? Didn't we offer KMart and multiple first rounders plus taking back bad contracts for a one year rental last season? Now we get him for nothing on long term contract?!

We also got this guy named James Harden too.... I hope he works out... I think he's got some potential, but I worry that he's too fat.
