You are not a doctor that could know if his body quit prior to his mind.
    Even doctors' opinion varied

So you have never made a mistake in your life?
He did interviews that he should not but the media twisted his words into something else.
It was well documented that his mind could not bear the rapid decline.
He still thought he was a superstar in 2008-2009 when he was clearly not, he did everything to not be traded.
And you blame a player for doing so? The Rockets were as much in this as McGrady. They gave up Cat and Francis for that guy and paid him max and extended. It did seem to payoff in the beginning. Blaming a player who could not play and the management still thinking they have a shot with him.
Well, guess what. They did the same with Yao Ming when they could have traded him earlier and still honor him later by retiring his number.
See Hakeem. Management did wrong there not trading earlier and letting McGrady know about a trade when he was in his darkest hours.

Adelman was a player's coach but he wasn't used to deal with superstars when they were declining within 2 years.

Yao will have his jersey retired more for how he helped the NBA and rockets tap into that Chinese market, than just his on court play. Tmac? He's gonna have to sell it, kiss some ass, and charm us so we forger his on court problems.

Francis and Mobley deserve to have their jersey's retired more than T-mac and neither of them will be.

Heck I would consider the Rockets retiring Dikembe's jersey ahead of T-Mac.

he is only the best SF our franchise has ever had

    center- Hakeem
    pf- Barkeley
    sf- Tmac
    sg- Clyde
    pg- Francis

They should all get their jerseys retired

He killed our chances of ever getting out of the first round.

This is the exact opposite of the truth. This is a political revision of history. Any impartial person who went back and watched each series would NEVER come back with this conclusion.

what are you talking about it? Any impartial person who can count to 4 can count that the Rockets didn't achieve 4 wins in the first round when Tmac was playing.

Are they going to retire his jersey? because he's jersey didn't quit yet, it's still working, the jersey is on Canaan , like Spider man's black jersey or when it was on Tmac, Venom.

Mario Elie, Sam Cassell, Otis Thorpe, Vernon Maxwell, Kenny Smith and Robert Horry needs their jerseys retired before McGrady gets his retired.

Name a player in the 2000's that meant more to the Rockets than T-Mac did.

It seems that some fans here are more concerned with the effectiveness of the PR machine a player has running than the actual on-court contribution of a player.

You said McGrady killed the Rockets' chances of getting out of the first round, as in "he was solely responsible" for the losses. I think Napalm Black's point was that it is incorrect that McGrady was the only, or even the main cause of our first round losses.

Say what you want about T-Mac's departure from Houston, and all the bad feelings that existed then, but he always stepped up his game in the playoffs, and other Rocket players deserve their share of the blame for those losses as well. Yao was just as much to blame for the losses as T-Mac.

I loved Mad Max, but if you are going to crucify McGrady for being a quitter, you have no business bringing up Maxwell as a counterpoint.
