ok i just turned the game off a few mins ago. Here are my thoughts Offense 1. Andre Johnson is a beast (orly) 2. Ben Tate looks like a good back 3. Keysh looks good as a return man 4. Shaub looks like Shaub. the good with the bad 5. Really need a second WR threat (Hopkins, hopefully) 6. Randy Bullock can be a BIG weapon for us! Defense 1. Crick looked good 2. Joe Mays -- come on, man 3. Having Cushing back sets the tone for the entire unit 4. I felt like we were missing a very good D-lineman....maybe we have one somewhere that can play in the regular season 5. Saw a lot of the back of Kareem's helmet
I don't think anybody is misunderstanding anything. This isn't basketball. Nobody is getting "frozen out" or "iso'd". Those terms don't apply in football. There's usually only one player MAX open on any given play. Schaub is throwing to that guy. Graham isn't even a starter, so now you're saying OD's backup is getting too many reps. Martin has had two balls thrown his way, one of which he was wide open and proceeded to drop. Not sure what else you want them to do.
Kareem will never be a ball-hawk QBs must fear. Just throw the ball up for grabs and rest assured it won't be intercepted.
He also wasn't being challenged. That is the point the OP was trying to make. Most QB's won't force it to a guy who is covered. Kareem has improved enough to stick with his guy downfield now. He just has to prove that he can defend the pass when it is forced in.
i had a feeling this would happen to our defense.. good thing we are getting a dew starters for the first game
