My mother-in-law, my wife, and I will be going for three days to the Mall of America. They used to live near there (Richfield) for a couple years, but don't remember much to do. Looking for suggestions...
3 days there? Too long. The only store I thought was unique was the Peeps store. The Easter candy place....not some kind of adult store you pervs
I agree. We spent just less than a full day there and that was more than enough. At the end of the day, it's still just a mall. A really big mall but still a mall. Minneapolis is a pretty cool town. Get out and do more than MoA.
Back when I worked at Continental, we did a couple of same-day trips to Mall of America. Several hours was enough for us. You will be bored starting the second day.
I agree three days to spend in the Mall of America is way too long. In one day you can do the amusement park, the aquarium and get in some shopping. If you are coming in the next week I would recommend checking out the MN State Fair in St. Paul which is going on through Labor Day. You can take shuttles from Bloomington or take the LRT to downtown Minneapolis and take shuttles from there. Otherwise I would recommend taking in a Twins game at Target Field (the Twins aren't much better than the Stros but the Field is still pretty nice). Right by there is Target Center and also First Avenue the night club from Purple Rain. You can get there by taking the LRT which runs from Mall of America, through the airport to Target Field and downtown Minneapolis. You can also check out historic Fort Snelling and parkland around there which is close to the airport. You can also check out the chain of Lakes south of Downtown Minneapolis. Feel free to send me an email if there is anything particular you are looking for in the Twin Cities.
Try shopping for white 3 point shooting power forward. Maybe you can get a good deal on one with a previously broken hand.
So many wonderful things to see and do in the US and you're going to the Mall of America for 3 days... I think you need to reevaluate your vacation plans.
Be careful not to record anything and walk at the same time. http://www.npr.org/2011/09/07/140234451/under-suspicion-at-the-mall-of-america
Seriously. I lived in Minnesota for 4 years. MoA isn't that interesting. Minneapolis has tons of other better stuff to do.
My in laws are cool. Besides that, they helped me almost beyond their means when I needed it the most in life, all because I was dating their daughter. She hasn't been on a vacation in about fifteen years. Its the least I could do to go on vacation with her.
If y'all like casinos, Mystic Lake is nice. There is a new Mexican restaurant in downtown Minneapolis named Rosa Mexicano. It was very good when we went and their table made guacamole is excellent. Seven steakhouse and Sushi is good. Target field is a great place to watch a ball game.
