I can't argue that point. I'm at work on a Friday. My brain quit working yesterday at 5. Sorry for ignorance and stuff.

You don't think this will become part of our history, in the ongoing discussion about race?

Not that this is directed at longhorn but the others that seem to CONTINUE to trash Trayvon after his death man I don't know.

You'd think they'd just be happy their boy got off but instead they are trying to pass Trayvon off as a pedophile drug dealer all while expecting his parents to side with Zimmerman.

I have no idea what they accomplish with it other than trying to justify Zimmerman killing Trayvon.

Well, others keep demonizing Zimmerman so it's a back-and-forth. TM is neither the angel nor devil his parents or critics, respectively, want others to believe he is and Zimmerman is neither the angel nor the devil that his advocates and antagonists, respectively, want others to believe he is.

Both men erred. This was just a tragic situation that came out the worst way possible-- unless the two men killed each other. Go back and read the first 40-50 pages of the thread. The defamation began immediately on Zimmerman and only caught up later on Trayvonn.

In most cases it's the person who shot the unarmed teenager that would get some defamation coming his way:rolleyes:

If you think about it, Zimmerman did not know that Martin was unarmed. Only Martin and we know that... and we only know it after it was all over. Remember, Zimmerman reported to the 911 dispatch that Martin appeared to be going for something in his waistband.

In the same vein, Martin didn't know that Zimmerman was armed until after he had made the seriously bad choice to attack the man; then it was too late.

You guys need to quit acting like some ring announcer was introducing these two with vital details at the final moments. This was a chance encounter on dark streets:

"Weighing at a sinewy 165 pounds, the 5' 11" Trayvon Martin is unarmed-- except for a bottled drink he is carrying. And weighting in at ~180 pounds, the portly 5' 8" George Zimmerman makes up for it with a concealed gun.
Gentlemen, let's get ready to rumble...."

Thanks for making that point. It is obvious now, in Florida, if you are being followed and get e drop on him, if you're going to confront him make that opportunity count before he shoots you. Bravo!

I don't know why you are confused. Please point out where I said it was relevant.

What's up with you? You are painting the "facts" to reach these distorted but desired conclusions. That is not what I said at all. I'm just tired of hearing that "Zimmerman shot an unarmed kid (with premeditation implied)."

Zimmerman had no way of knowing if Martin was armed or not just as Martin had no way of knowing if Zimmerman was armed or not... until it was too late.

You have made a habit out of distorting posts with which you disagree to a grotesque extent.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/02/stand-your-ground-poll_n_3697651.html

Aug 2 (Reuters) - Most U.S. voters support the "Stand Your Ground" laws, although the question of whether to retreat or use deadly force in self defense divides Americans along gender, racial and political lines, a national poll found on Friday.

The February 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, a black teenager, by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, in Florida sparked a national debate over self-defense laws.

Since Zimerman's acquittal last month, Martin's grieving parents, backed by African-American civic leaders, celebrities, students and political figures, including President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder, all say the Stand Your Ground law needs to be re-examined.

A Quinnipiac University poll, however, suggests it could be an uphill battle.

The poll found that a strong majority of white voters and men support the laws, while black voters generally oppose them and women are almost evenly divided.

Three quarters of Republicans and most Independents support Stand Your Ground laws, while more than six in 10 Democrats oppose them. In households with gun owners, voters back the laws by a margin of 67 percent to 29 percent.

"With these kinds of numbers, it's unlikely the movement to repeal 'Stand Your Ground' will be successful in most of the country," said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

Florida was the first state in the country to adopt a Stand Your Ground law, in 2005, and at least 21 states have also adopted similar laws, according to the National Council of State Legislatures.

The Florida law was inspired by an outbreak of looting after a string of hurricanes in 2004 and was intended to protect law-abiding citizens from prosecution for stopping a violent attack. It passed with resounding bipartisan support from Florida legislators, including some leading Democrats who now are outspoken about opposing it.

The survey of 1,468 registered voters was conducted from July 28 to July 31, and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points. (Reporting by Edith Honan and Bill Cotterell; editing by Gunna Dickson)

George visits the Kel Tec manufacturing site in Florida to buy a new shotgun, likely to protect himself from the death threats he's received...

FYI GZ used a Kel Tec when he shot TM in self defense

What happened to fat George with the dorky haircut? Now that he was acquitted of murder he doesn't need to pretend to be a soft, defenseless victim anymore?
