This time last year people were saying how screwed A&M was with a freshman QB. I'm not saying Hill would win the Heisman, but the kid has skills.

This has been the longest offseason ever! Just finished watching the A&M-Bama game on Fox Sports No-Huddle tonight, and I am pumped and ready for the season.

I like A&M and John Sharp backing Manziel ... No real evidence=Play ball. Couldn't care less if he took the money. We all know players on teams across the country take money, and if no real proof is brought forward, then Manziel is no different than any of those players, so lets keep this rolling until something tangible is presented.

I am a UH fan, but I cheer for the Aggies when they are not playing UH, which hasn't happened in many years. I really enjoyed watching them last season. My son-in-law is a big Aggie, so it makes it fun. We will soon see if the all the distractions matter. I doubt they will. The Aggies are loaded with talent.

ESPN has A&M listed as a 26.5 point favorite against Rice.

    Okay, prediction time.

Aggies win over Rice. They win 66-7. 700 yards of offense. Dominating D. All that jazz. No big deal....

Until later in the year when it gets forfeited.

Bigtexxx will declare this as a victory. A dominating win over an sec team.

My take on A&M this year -- they've lost a lot. O-line and defense will be weaker than last year. And even with their team last year (which most believe was stronger than this year's team), they dropped two home games.

So I'd look for a fall off this year.

No doubt the D line is a question mark. I do have faith in Coach Snyder. He took Demontre Moore and elevated his game. What I am hearing out of camp is that Hardreck Walker is going to be an impact payer (albeit off the bench). However, it is a huge question mark.

The O line will surprise people. Jake Matthews will slide over to LT, and is expected to be a high draft choice in the next draft. The WRs are going to be bigger and more physical. Evans will be on one side and man child RSJ will likely line up at the other side. That leaves Kennedy in the slot. The Ags are completely loaded at RB with Trey Williams, Ben Malena and Tre Carson. Transfer TE Cam Clear will be a receiving and a blocking threat. Big TE with good hands.

I think they will surprise some people with the quality of play.

Ultimately, I think the 26 point spread against Rice is about right.

RSJ is deep on the depth chart... The WRs will be much weaker vs. last year. Swope and Nwachaku (sp?) were quite good.

they are literally 7-8 deep at WR w the incoming freshman class, they are loaded at every offensive position, and the O-line will surprise a lot of people...Defense is a whole other question with the dbs and safety positions being the strong point

I have no clue how they'll do. Manziel has been acting a fool, a little adversity and the whole thing might come crashing down. Or, he might be Johnny again.

Agree that the o-line will be fine, not nearly as dominant as last year, I think last year we possibly had one of the top 75 o-lines of all time, but should still be in the top ten this year.

Not worried about the skill players. Evans is a pro prospect who might have his coming out party and we're still deep, we couldn't even find a way to get Trey Williams on the field last year.

No clue what will happen on defense. I'm leaning towards disaster against the run but Snyder is a miracle worker. I heard Moore was as raw as they come and now he's in the NFL. I also don't think Moore is all that talented in the first place. Someone coached him up.

Big concern for me... the loss of Kingbury (who I hate as a fan).

Also you cant compare those early season losses to LSU and Florida to the final TAMU product we had last year. Manziel learned from every game and improved every game. By the time we got to the Cotton Bowl that o-line and QB were on another level. Wish we had a playoff system.

The schedule is a joke. Even if they implode they can't lose more than 3-4 games. That o line is still good

Meh. I'd be sour too after that thrashing they took in the cotton bowl via Johnny Football.

Awesome news and some closure on the way!

Supposedly, A&M and the NCAA are nearing in on a deal to close this thing out. Not guilty of taking money because there is no proof but they are agreeing to some punishment for signing so many autographs saying he should have known they were going to be up for sale.

Looking like a suspension for the first half of the Rice game, and then we all move on with our lives.
