Cannan will make a fine roster addition but let's not sell the farm just yet.

Wow 45.6% from 3 in his junior year! 37% senior year but probably cuz defense was keying on him.

God helped his ankle, seems like Lin and him would get along very well.

he seems to be a keeper, more in the mold of a modern Vinnie Johnson. i would say he brings more versatility than Beverley because of his scoring prowess, definitely a good fit beside Harden when the 2nd unit is there since Harden will be the main facilitator.

a good problem to have if he does step up - lin, bev and canaan will crowd the backcourt. but a rotation of them plus harden seems solid and deep enough.

In no way does Canaan seem to bring more versatility than Bev at this point in time. Canaan can't play defense. He has poor pg skills in leading an offense, cant drive, is slow and is completely inexperienced compared to Bev who himself is limited in experience. He can sure shoot lights out and has a sweet stroke but he has a lot, and I mean a lot to prove before he sees any meaningful playing time.

Sounds like a he has a good head on his shoulders, he'll need that level headed-ness to get him through six months of D- League play.

47 percent last year in catch and shoot situations from the 3 point line. That is a sick person to have in the corner waiting for Harden to do something.

i agree he has a lot to learn and prove he belongs, but the qualities you mentioned are exactly why he fits the current version of the team. canaan and harden can funnel their man to the much improved interior D inside, making up for their deficiencies on D. as i mentioned, his game is like Vinnie Johnson's, very little PG and playmaking skills, but a fit to play alongside a facilitator like Harden or even Lin, just as the Microwave played with Isaiah in a small backcourt. won't be immediate, but if he does make the grade, that will most likely be his role

I like the Vinnie Johnson reference. Same body type although Canaan will be much more explosive and has much, much longer shooting range.

Canaan just seems like the atypical shooting guard mentality in a point guard body that seems so popular these days. Instead of actually trying to build point guard skills, just shoots. If he plays decent defense then I say let him be Harden's backup.

How dare him talk about films and stats on Chris Paul when the Rockets have the best stats guy as GM.

Team defense doesn't work like that. It's like saying now that we have Dwight (like we didn't have a great defensive center last year) we don't need much defense from anyone cuz Dwight can cover. What if its any team above playoff level and they make the extra pass when Dwight covers? Without acceptable defense, it may be hard to give him meaningful playing time. Will he get better and contribute right away next year after a few months with the Vipers? I'm not sure.. I do know that he has a pure stroke and his shooting may allow him to contribute early, but I'm still not sure.

No kidding! But don't forget the kick outs from Dwight and no look passes from JLin!
