I realize the game situation and all after Stassi got hit...but it seems like there should have been at least a pitch inside.

I guess there will be another chance later in Sept.

It clearly wasn't intentional, that pitcher had completely lost control, he hit 2 consecutive guys with the bases loaded to force in runs.

I guess they may have some sort of retaliation, but it really isn't necessary.

Retaliation would have just ended up in one of our guys getting hit. You don't retaliate for mistakes.

2 of our guys got hit in the same inning. One of which got hit in the face and is in the hospital for it. I have to think they deserved at least one pitch high and tight.

And that's exactly what sportscasters up here have been saying from the start about making all games against the ALastros count.

That's sure as hell going to be some kind of list. Too bad you are talking about what looks to be a distant future payback.

"Suck" is too kind a word.

Yeah, I've been hearing it when I tune into the various stations. One thing though that was refreshing to hear on Tuesday was that both the Hardline and GAC were saying better get the 'stros while you can, because it is not always going to be like this. They were legitimately concerned that they might lose on Tuesday night having to start Blackley against Cosart and that it might end up costing them the division down the road. Some folks (Mosley) thought what the Astros are doing is just absurd, but I think for the most part, they get the strategy. They just think that ever series with Houston is a "must sweep," probably for good reason.

Still shake my head at the haul they got from Atlanta for Tex (Andrus, Feliz, and Salty). Hoping the Pence deal with Philly works out that way for us (Jarred Cosart, Jonathan Singleton, Josh Zeid, and Domingo Santana).
Agreed; just didn't know how strong of a word I could use!

Eh, it's not that far away. Not anymore. Every minor league team is in first place and the system has a good shot at being #1 overall when re-ranked in October. A handful of the top prospects are in AA and AAA. It was a "distant future" two years ago, when Luhnow took over a trainwreck, but it's much more foreseeable now. Also helps that the Angels are clearly on the decline, and the Rangers (for this era) have likely peaked as well.

I really have no problem with their trying to rebuild the farm system as Drayton and Pupura drove it into the ground and it had to be done. But I am not really OK with adopting the "boom or bust" model of the Florida Marlins because that can take years to work in your favor. In the meantime, you are asking your fanbase to accept some pretty dreadful baseball. The Ranger basically sucked air over the past three decades and it took Nolan Ryan to really turn things around so we can discount anything the Rangersheep have got to say. No matter how much the Rangersheep strut and preen, they are worried and scared about their playoff prospects for this season.

As do I. Hopefully, that's something Luhnow can pull off in the future provided he can find a suck er another desperate team to trade with.

The Angels' fate was sealed once they signed Josh Hamilton so they have earned their misfortune the old fashioned way - by being dumbasses.
