Honey Bear was Ronny, and might also be Trader Jorge, who I believe went to Rice.

 

I don't know anything about Jorge, but I've been told that in Ronny's early posts he claimed to be a student at UH. He only later adopted the character that Ronny (and now HB) portrays. I think it was moestavern who told me that.

Sounds like a simple case of bad data. Do you really think unemployment is going to move 1.2 percentage points in a month without some big calamitous driver? Bad policy might cause unemployment in the long-term, but a short-term swing like that would require a a short-term driver. So, the data is bad.

And, since the last election, I've lost confidence in Gallup being able to handle their data anyway, so I won't be surprised.

i find it amusing that people who thought unemployment discounted marginally attached labor force participants, now won't look to that for a first reason why.

but here's a hint as to why: Gallup is basically a seasonally unadjusted opinion poll.

 

I am not surprised unemployment would go up as we went over the fiscal cliff and payroll taxes went up. It's going to hit the economy at some point.

Republicans have to take responsibility because to some degree they wanted unemployment to go up as a means to stick it to th POTUS
