We'd still be in RR if it were up to us (We were in RR for a decade, just happens they were part of the Texas League, replaced by CC). We are the only team CC's ever had, and they will be ours for a long time.

The Astros County piece, it talks about how we basically weren't wanted because we put forth bad teams and no-name players.

We've been in Tri-City the longest (since 2002). It is a far cry from every 2-3 years. We've been involved with the Orlando area as well for a very long-time, just through various affiliates.

Weird, Springer has both of those things.

They've also stated numerous times that it is not who they think is the better prospect, but rather who put forth the best season.

Mainly looking at the AAA team... Since its most likely to feature the future Astros that fans of other cities may follow.

I look at the Cardinals being in Memphis for decades, the Cubs being in Iowa... Those places are totally synonymous with the big league team. Round rock had the potential for stability... But it was a AA team longer than the AAA club... And if it was so "entrenched" as an Astros farm club, you think it would have been harder to flip franchises as fast as they did. (I realize it was a Ryan move)

The Astros had a good thing in Lexington that ended. They're going to get out of Lancaster eventually (for good reason). Corpus has been great, but they're still relatively new (and still have the Ryan ownership group)

The Astros have not had the sort of stability that other teams have had. I don't think OKC is gonna provide that either. New Orleans intrigues me more as it seems to be more "up for grabs" for MLB loyalty.

Back in the day, the Astros first AAA team was in Oklahoma City for 13 years, if I recall correctly.

    Before Tuscon/new Orleans/round rock/OKC again?

Have they figured out how many rangers vs cardinals vs Astros fans inhabit OKC?

Seemingly not many. They do seem to love their Redhawks though.

We do have a signed purchase agreement that takes effect at the end of the season.

We also used to be in Quad Cities.

I have to admit I haven't kept up with current baseball terminology. What is a "Ranger Fan"?

McCullers got placed on the Temporarily Inactive List. Speculation on twitter is that he is being shut down for the season after reaching his innings limit. If so, great year for Lance.

3.18 ERA, 10.1 K/9, 1.35 WHIP, 2.00 GO/AO, 2.91 FIP. Only thing Lance needs to work on is his command as he averaged over 4 BB/9.

Get anywhere out of SE Texas and you'll find out. It's disgusting what happened to the Stros around SA and Austin. Laugh all you want about losing RR as an affiliate, but that will hurt the franchise financially for years to come.

Lived in Austin from 95 until last year. I've meet plenty of Cowboy and even some Maverick fans, but I've only heard three people actually mention the Rangers. Losing RR will hurt fan base, but Woodlands will strengthen the core area.

agree that RR was a huge loss. Having the presence in Corpus helps

really wish the AAA would move to San Antonio now

Makes more sense than Padres being in SA (it is the Padres that have the Missions, right?)

Luhnow mentioned to me last year that they were considering San Antonio. Not sure where those discussions went

SA (a texas league AA team) would have to work out a deal to move the franchise some place else to allow a PCL team to them move into SA.

I foresee a problem as the prime spots within Texas to move a team are currently Sugar Land and the Woodlands... and I don't want the Astros to switch affiliates away from Corpus (which they'd be tempted to do with teams there).

I can't tell anymore when you're being blunt or doing your smug-undersell schtick.
