I'm not going to quote the whole thing here as it would just invite a slew of corny "TL;DR" posts, but this is really rather interesting.

    A couple highlights:

Pretty good article. I watched the documentary Hungry For Change yesterday and a lot of similarities are pointed out. It isn't just calories in-calories out because of nutrition. Food in poorer countries are generally calorie deficient while being high in nutrients. Conversely in wealtheir countries food is high in calories while being low in nutrients.

A person can be overweight and still be nutrient deficient so that they continue to eat foods that are calorie-rich because they are hungry for nutrients. Also pointed out was the various chemicals that are put into food which can change how the body processes the things we ingest making people hungrier for these nutrient deficient foods.

My significant other finds it both fascinating and unfair that I seem to be able to eat whatever I like, and don't gain a pound. It's freaky.

Vegetables, fruits, protein, and healthy fats. Basically stop eating things in boxes and just eat real foods.

I started doing just that last year. Lost 30 pounds. Started running this summer, lost another 13 pounds. Just 12 more to hit my target weight.

What I'm saying is it works. Cut out the junk food, the fast food, and the processed foods, and you will lose weight

It would seem so, but I had an MRI for something else that would have disclosed the damn slimy thing, and it ain't there. Maybe it's my metabolism, or some other goofy reason.
