All of these stories about people putting quarters on top of the backboard are old myths that aren't true. The Earl Manigault one takes the cake, though. He was like 6 feet tall, and people actually believe he could pluck quarters from the top of the backboard? Seriously???
I've never had much of a vertical . I think the highest vert I ever achieved was like 21". I barely could graze bottom of the rim. Now, Lucky to hit backboard 10 times Working on it though.
I posted the story of Earl and I don't believe it. It was probably a different goal that had a shorter backboard. I'm more impressed with Kareem saying that that Earl was the greatest player he had ever seen. Fun story about a real person who became a legend in the New York area.
How tall are you? 6'2? I've always had a ****ty verticle too. My highest ever standing vert has been like 24''. I can't even do a running vert (I mean when I jump off one leg my vert's like 7''.
