Im looking at this list of all the NBA players that came into the league straight out of high school from '95-'05 and i was thinking how do you think they would be if they were an actual team.

Just current players off the top of my head.

    Monta Ellis/Louis Williams
    Kobe Bryant/J.R. Smith
    LeBron James/Josh Smith
    Kevin Garnett/Amare Stoudamire
    Dwight Howard/Tyson Chandler

Not a lot of passing from the guards (lololol) but thats an amazing team.

How do you think they would do if it were all of their rookie seasons? A team full of 17/18 year olds

PF: Kevin Garnett / Shawn Kemp / Amare Stoudemire
SF: Tracy McGrady / Rashard Lewis / J.R. Smith
SG: Kobe Bryant / Tracy McGrady / Monta Ellis

Eddy Curry and Kwame Brown battle for the 15th roster spot?

Put Shaun Livingston in there, just to have a pass-first guard!

I would appreciate if I could see Darius Miles bang his fists against his head a few times and make the team if possible.

You have Lebron on the high school team. That's quite unfair as well.

Yes, he will probably not last a couple seasons in that high school team and take his talents to an "all non-high school team."

Replace JR with T-Mac and gotta squeeze in Jermaine O'neal (prime) in there somewhere.

This teams you guys are coming up make a strong case to reevaluate the one and done rule.

Some of these guys where a stolen laptop or rape case away from never having a chance to be in the league.

I wonder if Royce White Would have had a different career if he didn't have college coaches catering to is insecurities and warping his mind.

I question the cast of unlikely teammates could be aligned in a peak composition.

    Interesting point.

A high school-to-NBA prospect is probably willing to make the jump mainly based upon his potential (athleticism, scoring ability, size, etc). Passing ability doesn't necessarily correlate with being a pass-first player (see T-Mac, Lebron, Pau, etc). I think the strongest contributors are BBall IQ, PG body and pass-first mentality. I think High school is probably way too early to tell if a player will end up being primarily a passer.

The other thing I can think of is that the draft values size, scoring ability and athleticism much higher than passing ability. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that you do not necessarily need a PG with elite passing ability to win; a solid defender, good facilitator and strong shooter are likely more valuable.

Hakeem, Mutombo, Sabonis, Petrovic, Nash, Parker, (does Duncan count?),
Yao, Ginobli, Al Horford, Batum, Joakim Noah, Nowitzki, Schrempf, Spanoulis,
Rubio, Gallinari, Gasol brothers, Manute Bol, Boozer, Patrick Ewing, Kyrie Irving.

    To name a few...
That is one crazy defensive team with some excellent guards in there.
