Wait, are some of you liberals trying to tell me some of the things one finds in a poorly prepared powerpoint slide are not the literal solid truth?

    This is just beautiful

Politico: Obamacare critic Rick Perry seeks cash from law

Gov. Rick Perry wants to kill Obamacare dead, but Texas health officials are in talks with the Obama administration about accepting an estimated $100 million available through the health law to care for the elderly and disabled, POLITICO has learned.

Perry health aides are negotiating with the Obama administration on the terms of an optional Obamacare program that would allow Texas to claim stepped-up Medicaid funding for the care of people with disabilities.

    Okay.

While Congress is not technically exempt - congressmen and their staffers will have to participate in the exchanges - they DID decide to give themselves extra payments to cover costs that they'd have lost if they had to participate on the same level as everyone else. They created a two-tier system: one for the great unwashed, and another for themselves. Thus they are effectively exempt from it.

And guess what President Obama, members of Congress, federal judges, Justice Dept officials, and their families all have in common? They are all federal employees and will all be in that top tier.

The waivers have been flying for years now. It's not exactly a secret either, guys.

But low information voters won't even hear about this. If it's not on Fox or Drudge, it never happened.

Except this misses the fact that their employer (the federal government) currently provides insurance and is not allowed to do so anymore, thanks to the silly Grassley amendment. The intent of the amendment was to simply shift those government employees to the exchange system, but because it was worded badly, it also prevented the employers from paying for it. Now, that's simply fixed.

No private employer is forbidden from providing insurance, and yet the federal government was due to a technical error - that's all that was fixed. No one is exempt and no one is getting new benefits.

Those waivers don't make anyone exempt from Obamacare. They got time extensions to comply with annual benefit caps - extensions that end this year anyway. Everyone will have those caps in 4 months - "waiver" or not.

Again, people should really work on understanding the details of what they are complaining about instead of just reading things like "WAIVER!" and deciding that people are exempt from Obamacare.

    Oh those wacky Kentucky conservatives.

Kentuckians Hate Obamacare But Love It By Another Name

Kentucky is geared up with their health exchanges. They are now informing residents about how to get access to health insurance. They market their Obamacare state exchange under the Kynect name. The following reported encounter with a Kentuckian shows the dangers of being misinformed.

A middle-aged man in a red golf shirt shuffles up to a small folding table with gold trim, in a booth adorned with a flotilla of helium balloons, where government workers at the Kentucky State Fair are hawking the virtues of Kynect, the state’s health benefit exchange established by Obamacare.

The man is impressed. “This beats Obamacare I hope,” he mutters to one of the workers.

“Do I burst his bubble?” wonders Reina Diaz-Dempsey, overseeing the operation. She doesn’t. If he signs up, it’s a win-win, whether he knows he’s been ensnared by Obamacare or not.

We were just today presented with our healthcare options. The school pays for my coverage in full but the full family coverage is almost $900/MONTH- entirely my expense. That is 15-25% of a public school teacher's take-home.

    $500 DED.

Thank your employer who, no doubt, is probably picking up ALL of your expense and MOST of your wife's expense. I can GUARANTEE you that healthcare for a young woman does not truly cost $104 per month.... ****, a young male can't even get a reasonable plan for that on the open market.

Actually my intention was to point up the need for some kind of sane healthcare program in this country. My colleague who just came over from 15 years teaching in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Yemen got spoiled by the virtually "free" healthcare he enjoyed over there but, remember, gas was also 25 cents per gallon.

Is it not possible to talk about issues without projecting undue hate or unreasonable love on or for anyone? I said nothing about Obama, nor do I think that our Governor controls health insurance rates... or were you implying that my teacher's salary should be 200K and the $900 would be water off a duck's back?
