    Crazy thing was another car was going faster.

    In excess of 130mph... my buddy in the next lane swears we were upwards of 140mph but I don't know... last I saw on the speedo it was the ~135mph... I shut it down not long after that.

    That night was stupid and at times scary, we were racing each other and at times radomnly racing other drivers.

    I'm lucky to have not gotten killed or killed someone else.... Houston's highways are not deisgned to support those kinds of speeds.

    Back in my youth..... Even though I drove 120 in a mustang. The craziest situation I was in a cargo van with my buddies headed to pick up some bud. Some dude we barely knew was driving and passed someone on the shoulder doing 100 headed to Baytown. I refused to get back in that van and called my brother to pick me up.

    Man, I've never gotten to over 100 lol. Randomly driving around within the flow of traffic I've gotten up to around 90-95. I remember looking at the spedo and I was like, ****, I need to slow down lol.

    Did 162 on a bike and 155 in a C6 Z06 Vette that was built.

    Don't do that **** anymore though. Not worth it. And both drives were on 45 headed to Galveston at around midnight.

    It depends on what freeway you are on. Katy freeway is designed for speeding. so is the southwest, and eastex and 45N, north of the Beltway.

    75-80mph is my standard speed on most highways if it's possible to do that without being reckless. I don't even feel that speed.

    It does become more of a conscious effort >85-90mph. I have flirted with 100mph couple of times just to go fast..but the fastest was when 10 years ago (19 years old) when I got my new Camry. LOL! Did 127mph on beltway 8 east.

    I am not sure how I managed to get up to that speed and not die. Today I did 115mph on 288south towards angelton in another car.

    155 mph in my BMW M5 on I-10 during road trip back from Orlando. Made sure I had a long stretch of road I could see in front of me and no cars even close.

    130 mph on Beltway near IAH airport.

    I swear I've seen a couple threads like this recently in the Hangout.

    155 mph in Houston and random (rural, empty) states in America. Normally, I drive between 60-75 mph on cruise control in a family sedan.

    305 km/h or about 190 mph in Europe.

    Glad to see there is someone else who has shared my experience. I've been shot at. My car nearly blown up. A family member went missing for days. And I rode my motorcycle just over 170 mph.

    The above have been the most terrifying moments in my life.

    Before I had kids, I used to play in San Diego, 120-130. But it was more about that accelartion.

    Now that I have kids, I wont.

    Pics? I'm seriously thinking about buying the new Stingray as I miss the sports car rush. It'll probably get 4000 miles a year, but so want.
