What happened? Did he rip his helmet off and hit him in the head with it? lol. I'm asking because Andre Johnson took that dude's helmet off and just about beat him in to last week and nobody was talking about sending him to jail.

I don't understand why he didn't just stab him with his sword?

I have a hard time feeling sorry for Richie Incognito, even if he had been brained with a helmet. What a POS.

And yes of course Antonio needs to keep his cool and be smart around a known instigator. Did anyone see video of the rest of their plays?

Antonio Smith has a problem with one guy in this league.

Richie Incognito has a problem with pretty much everybody he goes up against.

For Richie, I will gladly get off my moral high horse. I hope he gets injured this year.

At the least, I'm glad that we won't play them again to have the opportunity to be further hurt by his dirty ways.

Why would anyone feel sorry for Incognito? He's about as unsympathetic a figure as can be. Even if the helmet connected, I don't think anyone would feel sorry for him.

Antonio took the bait, acted like an idiot and gave the jerkhead the satisfaction of winning the mental battle. He was owned.

Here is my take on the images that i have seen...Incognito on that particular play was driving his hands through the facemask of Smith, and smith was returning the favor. Incognito then took a right arm open hand swing at the helmet of Smith connecting, and Smith ripped off his helmet and quickly swung the helmet at his head.

No doubt that Smith deserve a punishment, but Incognito deserves something as well...

I dont condone smiths actions, but Incognito deserves anything he gets. Dude is straight up dirty and has always been that way.

That particular play he jabbed smith several times in the face/facemask area.

Again I dont condone smith's actions, he's got to be smarter about it. I wouldnt feel bad tho if it connected.

Exactly, to say that could have killed him is just ridiculous.

Incognito throws a punch in the incident as well, but Smith's helmet swing supersedes anything. However, those saying that he deserves the boom lowered on him are going overboard. Given Incognito's punk history and the fact that he's well-known as being the dirtiest player in the league, I'd saying anything more than the remainder of the pre-season is too much. I'm glad we're done with the Dolphins this season though. Incognito is one of the worst people in the NFL.

Two people I can't stand in the NFL: James Harrison and Richie Incognito. They are both dirty players who are douchebags when it comes time to take responsibility for their actions.

That being said, the NFL should look at the history between the guys here. Incognito purposefully tried to hurt Smith last year, and that's on video. This year, he goes hands to the face multiple times during a play (which is a 15 yard penalty), so Antonio retaliates. To me, watching the video in slow motion, it looks like Antonio swings, and then pulls the helmet back a bit so as to miss Incognito's head. It's different to me if it wasn't instigated, but this totally was, and by the league's biggest instigator.

In fact, part of me wishes Antonio would have connected, but then again, I should not be that personally invested in this thing, so I don't really care.

That being said, I say suspending both of them for the remaining pre-season would be fair:

    Smith - 2 games
Incognito - 1 game (Dolphins played in the HOF game)

I agree with those that think Antonio never really meant to connect. It's really more of a swipe than a swing. Kind of reminds me of the big deal made of Shaq a while back when he reared back and took a big swing at some white center (Chris Mihm?) and missed badly. A big deal was made of that because Shaq is so huge had he connected he could have done unbelievable damage (remember Kermit Washington?)...but Shaq missed so badly I never really believed he intended to connect. He was just physically venting frustration. This incident looked similar to me.

I agree these media pundits are overblowing it with the whole "it could have killed him" thing. Absolutely it was stupid, but there is no way that is worse than what Hayensworth or Suh did.

Bingo. Suspend them both with a warning that any other incidents will warrant in-season suspensions of more games. Incognito should not be allowed to get away with stuff like that all the time.

It's stupid on the NFL's part to not do anything about dirty plays b4 they pile up and get out of control such as in Finegan's and Incognito's cases. Players shouldn't have to go to the extremes that Andre and Antonio went to to get the dirty play to stop.
