Jay Glazer: NFL was made aware of this last night. I expect a severe penalty. This was worse than Suh and maybe Haynesworth. We're looking at a suspension. Mike Pereira: I think it's a suspension. A non-football act. I'd be surprised if it's anything less than a 2 game suspension.

Video from @JayGlazer on @FFD just now shows Antonio Smith swinging a helmet at Richie Incognito during a game. Those two have some bad blood between them. Gifs I found on battleredblog: Spoiler http://www.battleredblog.com/2013/8...elmet-at-richie-incognito-likely-to-face-fine
I was worried about this entering that preseason game. = ( Incognito and Magneto, two of the most hated evil doers.
Antonio Smith is an idiot. He should be suspended at least 2 games, maybe 4. NFL should lower the boom on him and he should apologize to his teammates, Bob McNair and Texans fans for doing something so stupid and cheap.
How in the world is this worse than Suh and Haynesworth? Those guys ACTUALLY CONNECTED in their incidents. Glazer admits in his own story that Smith didn't. http://msn.foxsports.com/watch/fox-...lbin-alerts-nfl-about-in-game-incident-081913 There's also the issue of an official staring DIRECTLY at the incident and not even deeming it worthy of a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. I know "intent" and all that, but the actual result of the action has to be taken into account. A guy who attempts to punch someone and misses isn't going to be given the same discipline as someone who punches an opponent square in the face. It's just common sense. The same principle applies here.

"Any" suspension? Suh got suspended two games for ACTUALLY STOMPING on an opponent. Got none for his kick to Matt Schaub's groin. If Smith gets the same or worse for kinda coming close and missing, it's ridiculous.
repped. Incognito has the league's worst tattoos, and is also the league's dirtiest player so there's that. At least our guys pick their beatdowns on opposing players wisely - Andre didn't get nothing for the epic beat down on Finnninininingan.
You can see Incognito basically pulling a Cortland Finnegan on Smith and going hands to the face multiple times. Antonio had enough, took Incognito's helmet off, and swung at him. Didn't connect. Either a fine and/or one game suspension seems to be in order. Antonio has no prior incidents, much like Andre when he teed off on Finnegan's head multiple times (and actually connected).
Come on, now. It's the act that should be punished. Let's not give him a pass because he has poor aim.
Obviously the "he could've killed the guy" is ridiculous, but swinging a helmet is definitely very dangerous.
the bigger story here is, how did tannehill escape cushing, and why cant we have a qb that atleast attempts to escape sacks. schaub would have curled up as soon as cush left his feet..
