I'm just not that impressed as you are. We have had many young talented players, but they didn't pan out, so I'm not sold they will be good players:

Karim Rekik, Zakaria Bakkali, Jetro Willems, Depay: Al young players who have not played enough to make a good assessment. At one point Aisatti was also labelled as a future star. There are to many factors that can still mess with their future. Willems has played for the Dutch national team, but that was because we really didn't have a left back, his offense is good, but defensively he makes errors.

Adam Maher: Talented player, but I'm not sure he will ever be a great player in the ere divisie let alone on European level. He has a lot to learn

Wijnaldum and Narsingh: Not that impressed. Both might develop in good players. But I do not expect them to. I have more faith in Narsingh than in Wijnaldum, but Narsingh is not that much better than Beerens in his prime. I'm not that big of a fan of Wijnaldum (maybe that is partly because he left Feyenoord for PSV). he is an ok player, but i do not see the talent of a van der Vaart, Sneijder, Affelay.

Matavz and Toivonen: Both are mediocre players. Good for the eredivisie, but not on European level. They are not close to Affelay's level when he played his last years for PSV, and Affelay is struggling to succeed in the top competitions (ofcourse injuries are a factor).

None of these players are the best player in the eredivisie, and in order to succeed with the European top team you will have to dominated the eredivisie. Like Suarez, Huntelaar, affelay, Sneijder, Robben all did. There are also a lot of players who dominated the eredivisie and didn't succeed at foreign big clubs.

The greatest show on earth is back, now on NBC.

Really enjoying the NBC production value so far. It's substantially better than anything FOX Soccer ever gave us.

LOL at Arsenal - I wouldn't put it past them to make some sort of mid-season run that solidifies Top 4 or 5, but it's always great to see them fall flat at the start. I can't imagine being a fan of a club that is so rich, but ignores the economics of top flight football.

I'm just about done giving Wenger a pass. If this window closes and the squad still looks like this, he has to be fired.

LOL. ManU scores from a Rooney assist and he don't give a hoot.

Too many missed chances for Liverpool. Reminds me of 2 years ago when everyone and their mothers took turns smacking the bar like it was going out of style. I expect the boys to get better throughout the season. They're young and should get better acclimated to playing with each other. Hopefully we won't even need Suarez when his ban i up.

Not too worried about Arsenal. They're just doing their customary early season slump.

So I watch the second half of Bayern vs Frankfurt. Would have loved to see Frankfurt score (and they almost did), to light a fire in Bayern's ass. I don't get to see Bundesliga much, so I was hoping to be wowed yesterday. The attacking third didn't seem to interested for some reason.

We're up 6-0 at halftime. Following the blueprint. Score 8 goals and make sure the other team doesn't score 9.

Not a bad start for Barca yesterday, hopefully we can build on that strong win. Now onto the first finals of the season, Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday.

I'm glad I stopped rooting for Arsenal when I did. They run a shop there, not a football club.

Great start to the season for City. I was suprised to see both Aguero and Dzeko starting as I expected a 4-2-3-1 formation and what we got was a 4-2-2-2. Navas looked great out wide, Aguero showed his ability to seperate from defenders and score from nearly any angle on the pitch, Dzeko was strong all game long just unfortunate he couldn't find the back of the net. Put up 4 yesterday and I think this team should be scoring multiple goals every game with the talent they have up front (Aguero, Dzeko, Negrado, Jovetic, Navas, Silva and Nasri).

The only setback from yesterday was Kompany tweeking his groin. Although it looks like its only going to be a week to week thing as opposed to a month to month thing.

How do you do that and still call yourself a proper soccer fan? You stick by your club through good and bad times and that is what makes Soccer and sports special. It all seems too bandwagonny for me.

I'd be embarrassed if I was a fan of Italian soccer. Any small touch and an Italian player will flop to the ground in no time. Time wasting in the first half too, impressive.

I said I rooted for them but they weren't my club. They were the club I'd root for in the EPL.
