    LOL.

I'll be shocked if Andrew Bynum plays over 250 minutes next season.

Well, it's pointless for us to speculate. Cleveland has a better grasp on that. But it's something they would have to consider if that type of deal was offered.

To be honest both are good trades and I have always thought Tristans game is similar to Aldridge. Kid was coming on strong towards the end of the year.He could possibly pan out as a 3rd or 4th option on this team. In time he may give you Aldridge numbers.

I did type straight up, but didn't mean straight swap. Lol...

Id be worried about his injuries causing wear on his older aged body. If he was still 27 with the same injury history it's much more worth it. But he's 31, making it worse.

I think he still Carrys value, just not as much aa before last years deadline, when he should have been traded. I would put his value below Anderson/millsap/ilyasova.

I think all of them have about the same value, tbh. Varejao and Millsap are the best players of the bunch. But Varejao is aging, and he had some injuries to bring his value down; his contract is very good, however, only two years and a partial guarantee. And the negative with Millsap is that he's likely a 1.5 year rental as he can't be extended. Anderson/Ilyasova are young guys with good contracts and very sought-after skill sets.

I'd trade Asik for any of these 4, depending on medicals of course. I think they would all be upgrades for this team. If Morey could get more, kudos to him, if not, he shouldn't wait too long. Teams shouldn't waste their title windows nickel and diming.

I don't think Asik is that great of a player that (like in that Roxtxia's trade idea) if Morey is offered Millsap, Morey should decline and wait a year hoping for more. You are offered Millsap? Grab it and don't look back. I think it's much more questionable for Atlanta tbh, it's hard to say if they actually get better as a team.

They carry comparable value. I wouldn't mind any of the 4. I don't think Morey should wait nickel and diming, i also don't think he will. I think he realizes his value it's at it's highest. He is just holding out for more value.

I feel like Morey will land Anderson, it makes the most sense for both parties. The hiccup in negotiations is the added players/picks involved.

Anderson is the best fit for this squad, but he makes 1M more than Asik at 9M per and you lose out on Howard insurance/48 mins of elite paint protection. Is there a big difference when it's Parsons standing at the 3 and when it's Anderson standing at the 3? I don't think so.

This is why IMHO DM should actually nickel and dime. Hold out until you get so much value you virtually raping the other team. Anderson or whoever will still be there later on, who knows, maybe by mid-season the Cavs are so desperate to get to the playoffs they give us a pick, TT and Varejao for Asik.

Anderson and Parsons would play together. I don't understand that particular argument.

The problem with holding out until you "rape" some team is that you have a title window, and wasting even a year of the title window is stupid, IMO. The clock is ticking. There have been so many teams that seemed to have long windows and ended up having just a few years because of injuries or other reasons. You can upgrade a contender AND it makes sense long term, too? Nothing to think about then.

Another problem with holding out is that Asik could be a rental. He can't be extended. He's going to enter the open market. 2 year rental on a cheap contract > 1 or even 1.5 year rental. And on top of it, he's coming off a career year and will have a lesser role this season. And further on top of it, he's approaching the 15 mil paycheck.
If you get a solid deal now, you take it. Asik's value won't be any higher.

Well, this particular trade idea only seems realistic if Varejao is injured. I don't mind this, it's a nice assets trade. Though I'd prefer Millsap/Anderson/Ilyasova. Contenders should prioritize fit and wins.

I would very surprised (and disappointed) if we traded Asik to New Orleans for Ryan Anderson. First of all, it's not enough. Secondly, we are basically turning New Orleans into a contender with that deal. They will then have the twin towers working for them in even a better fashion than we could have with Howard and Asik. Asik and Davis together on the interior? That would be sick. We'd have trouble beating them and they would almost definitely turn into a playoff contender. Meanwhile we got our spread 4 but Dwight and Harden will have to attack against Jrue/Gordon and Asik/Davis.

So trading Asik to New Orleans, a team in our own division, and improving their team by leaps and bounds and making it much more difficult for us to get past them...seems like a no-go to me. Now if Withey shows something in preseason...then perhaps an Anderson/Withey/2014 pick swap/future second rounder might be equivalent value for Asik. And that's a "might be equivalent value" statement. But Asik for Anderson is a no-go for me from the get-go.

As much as I like Ilyasova I wouldn't trade Asik for Ilyasova straight up either. There would have to be other parts to the deal and we'd have to get back John Henson along with Ilyasova.

It's an interesting point, but there are many actual contenders that the Rockets have to worry about before they worry about a potential contender in the Pelicans.

Besides, a lot of things have to go right before the Pelicans are a contender. Davis isn't even a good defender right now, so it's more of a longer term concern. Gordon is rarely healthy. And they are a small market with limited spending abilities that might not even be able to keep this same core 2-3 years from now.

If you improve as a team and become more of a contender, everything else is secondary.

    2014 summer sign and trade:

    To HOU: Lebron James
To Miami: James Harden+Terrence Jones+draft pick.

Why for Lebron: a chance to team up with Dwight Howard and Daryl Morey.
Why for HOU: Lebron is the best, lets have a shrimpfest.
Why for Miami: if Lebron chooses to leave, better to get Harden (who is great) than to be left with nothing.

Don't know why everybody keeps trying to trade Asik to the west playoff contenders like the pelis. Surely morey won't risk Asik coming back to haunt him.

I would rather only face Asik twice a year and never in the playoffs if I had my way

    45 Caron Butler
    46 Ben Gordon
    47 Patrick Patterson
    48 Brian Roberts
    49 Bradley Beal
    50 Chandler Parsons

This should give you an idea about how much better Ilyasova is at the three ball than any other potential PF option. There are not very many guys on this list who do or can play PF. I have a very hard time believing that Morey isn't trying to trade for Ilyasova. Milwaukee for sure views Jeremy Lin as a big upgrade at PG. I like Brandon Knight's potential but he can't hold Lin's jock right now. Also, I have to think that Milwaukee would like to clear a starting job at PF for John Henson.

He only takes a few open 3s a game, typically behind the free throw line extended. Compare to Anderson, who shoots 3s far more often and can really shoot from anywhere. Or Novak, who's also a volume 3pt shooter and can shoot from anywhere (but an especially good corner shooter).

Ilyasova is a nice player, a very nice pick&pop and hustle PF, but he's not a better 3pt shooter than other options.

Btw, I wonder what's Novak's trade value. Does Ujiri value him, or would he prefer cap space and maybe some 2nd rd pick?

How many 3-balls a game do you think Ilyasova would be taking here playing as, at best, the third to fourth offensive option?

Ilyasova has proven over the course of multiple years what kind of shooter he is...from all over the court. He has one of the best looking shot charts of any player in the league. It would only improve if he were plugged into a lineup with 2 monster superstar players.
