had my assistant work the phones the day the schedule opened up otherwise it's tough, although easier if you have a group. But I wouldn't want to go there with a big group
Meh, steakhouses are so played out. No excitement, old fashioned, stuck in the past (the best example of tis is Michaels in Las Vegas). I'd rather go to more diverse and exciting places that experiment and try new things.
Hugos is probably my favorite in houston right now as well. still need to try pass and provisions, I hear a lot of good things about it.
I've been to plenty restaurants, both chains and hole in the walls. I'm not one to stick my nose up to chain restaurants purely because they are chains. So yeah, Chuy's is my favorite right now. Good food, I love their boom boom sauce, good atmosphere and decent prices. There's other Tex-Mex food out there that is better, but I never said best food. Best food and favorite place don't necessarily go hand in hand. Probably a close second would be either Beck's or Willie's in Sugar Land cause they have great patios to go along with pretty awesome burgers.
Who makes a good, FRESH heterosexual quiche? There's kind of a weird, independent restaurant when you're first coming into galveston, you take one of the first exits to the right- it's not a landry group owned one, but all african americans, all dressed up super fancy, fancy table cloths & dinnerware/silverware, but then not really fancy decor otherwise. Overlooks the water. Such a weird combo. I've eaten there a half dozen times back when i worked in ga, cant remember the name. I guess my favorite, if excluding sushi (if an unlimited budget).
The food at Hula Hut is terrible. Yeah it's a cool atmosphere, but I'd think a favorite restaurant would at least need to serve average food. I put it about on par with the food quality of Taco Cabana as far as Tex-Mex restaurants go. It is to Tex-Mex what Joe's Crab Shack is to seafood.
Mexican, there's a small restaurant chain in braz. co. who serve a fajita plate I've never had the likes of before- an unusual combo of veggies, carrots, mushrooms, and other stuff in addition to the usual peppers & onions. & a beef, shrimp & little bacon meat combo. La Casana (cosana, casona?). Angleton, lake jackson at least. Very, very good stuff. Great salsa too. There's also great mexican in galveston, "the original" mexican restaurant or something.
Yep clary's that's it. Still remembering little touches about that place. Juxtaposition of rough wooden cowboy style diner brag walls covered in politicians & actors shaking hands with the owner vs. super fancy water pitchers & waiters in tuxedos. Just the general feel of the place. Get their "house" dressing with your salad. I don't even know what it is, but it was amazing. Sad i can't remember much beyond that about their food, despite having such fond memories of it. It was kind of a treat when we went their, with my lunch/f buddy.
Eh it's all subjective. But I guess It's really not that hard to please me with Tex Mex. It's most definitely above Taco C though, which in itself I don't mind going to for a cheap meal at times.
