But have we all already forgot that the Thunder gave up Jeff Green for Kendrick Perkins also?

What is all this hoopla about Sam Presti. Sure, the guy can draft....but hes made some serious questionable calls on just about everything other than the draft.

    That team...

    Westbrook
    Harden
    Durant
    Green
    Ibaka

That wouldve been one of the best teams maybe in NBA history...

And for those of you that say they couldnt have paid them all, sure they could have. Green is making what Kendrick makes. And if they wouldve won that 2012 title, Harden probably takes less to stay.

I hate the Thunder. They are slowly climbing my list of most hated teams. Up there with Utah, Dallas, LA, and San Antonio.

But its pretty crazy to think of what they had assembled. I for one, however, am glad it fell apart. Instead of being an easy choice for the finals every year like the Heat. They are just another contender out West.

All because of Sam Presti mashing the panice button right before 2012 season, Howard and Harden duo became possible. (Put that on front page quote Clutch!)

That move still makes me wonder what presti was thinking. U have ibaka and u get Perkins?? With green on the team, okc would of pushed the heat to at least gam 7 in the 2012 finals. Oh well. Thanks for harden.

kendrick perkins is a starting center on a championship team. he has that toughness all playoff teams need. he's very underrated.

Nice Rockets related thread, chap. Presti is getting his fair share of criticism nowadays.

People talk about the Harden trade because this is a Rockets forum, not a bash-the-Thunders-for-their-front-office-mistakes forum.

    Yeah, Presti screwed up.

Green isn't that great anyway, and he's way over paid. The worst part of that trade is that they got Perkins, not that they got rid of Green.

Perkins for a very good player for the Celtics and did you see how fit he got himself when he came to OKC? It seemed like a great move at the time, but it was one of those moves that seemed really good at the time, but just didn't work out.

Perkins was bought in for guys like bynum and howard. The heat have no real center and they play small ball which makes perkins useless. They did get to the finals last year and probably would have this year too with RW.

I have no animosity towards the Thunder, and I hope things work out for them. With that out of the way, I'm not sure that this is Rockets related. Morey trades with a number of teams, but eventually any discussion of that team becomes more about them than us.

Except for the fact that he's a bonehead with no standout skills to speak of - yeah.

Injuries. Perkins had a major (knee?) issue when traded. He never quite was as good in OKC as he was in BOS.

And then of course Green had his own health issues and people didnt think much of him until recently.

That's clear now, but at the time of the trade it wasn't and his offseason work made him look like he had his head on straight.

I suppose. You know how some guys just appear to be likable? Perkins appears to be the opposite of that. As a GM, I don't want that ugly mug trolling my paint even in his best year. :)

Didn't have the worst playoff PER of all-time last year? I think he had more fouls than points. No, he is NOT underrated. I actually stand to say he is overrated because a lot of people actually think he can contribute.

Bringing toughness does not matter if you're being out rebounded and letting your man score easily.
