ya MS is just dragging their feet. I feel like if I switch to Win Phone 8, I have to give up features I am used to on iOS. MS just doesn't seem to understand they are in 3rd place. At least implement the top 10 requested features on their own site! Custom ringers, separate media volume, static status bar, notification center. Give me those + a lil more solid device on verizon and I will switch. Until then i will just hang on to my iPhone 4.
I had to make this decision back in June, I ended up with the HTC ONE, and not regretting it one bit. It has a better UI, a better casing, front speakers, Beats audio (I know beats isn't great but it's better than your average phone audio), and a great low light camera!
+1 for the One. HTC makes quality gear, not the junk Samsung does. I say this as a Samsung owner who used to own a HTC... Really, they're both great phones. But I'd take a One over an S4 any day.
This isn't a shot or anything per se, but how many of you HTC One owners have official Android 4.2?. I haven't really kept up with non-Nexus/carrier updates
Well, Verizon has their version of the HTC One (due Aug. 22) running Android 4.2.2 out of the box. I have to believe that this certainly bodes well for the other couriers (regarding upgrading their Android version)...
If I had to do it over again I'd get the HTC over the S4. I like the phone, but it's so slim and slippery that it got dropped so much I already cracked it. In 4 years of having my iPhone I never once had it dropped and cracked. Plus after hearing the speakers on a friends HTC I was all "damn!".
It's thinner than the iPhone and it fits in my pockets perfectly. I don't have a case on it though, wish I would have.
Speaking of which, on the HTC One, does anybody know how to directly call someone when you tap on their name in Contacts or Favorites? I hate how by default goes to their full contact info page, then you have to press the phone button to start dialing.
bought a new hp pre 3 (unreleased) off eBay last night. old habits die hard. experience is everything. s4 and nexus 4 going to the kiddie corner... for now.
heh. the webos fanboi fanboy-ism is strong in this one. i'll probably make it my dd until the new nexus comes out.
Blanket statements like these do not add anything to the discussion. These two phones are actually very close based on all the reviews out there and all the research I have done over the last two weeks while sifting through the fanboy comments. It comes down to user preference/experience in terms of the benefits each phones offers over the other. Removable battery + external storage + better outdoor pics of the Galaxy S4 vs Better build quality + better speaker phone + better indoor pics of the HTC One For someone like me who needs the external storage and removable battery, the S4 is the clear choice because HTC cant offer me what I need. For someone who is looking for great speakers and shoots a lot of pics indoors, HTC One would be the obvious better choice.
Swiping left or right just moves my screen to the next tab. I can't figure out how to change any of these settings.
