I think Morey holds on too Asik for all of this year. A deep playoff run would increase his value. I'd say next summer he's dealt.

I do want to note that Kevin Love asked for the super-max, which is technically different from your run of the mill 5-yr deal like Pekovic's or Javale McGee's.

2015-2016 is a player option. So it's only 2 more years. Which means he can start pouting next offseason.

Not sure we will have much in cap space in 2015 after resigning Parsons at $10 million per year next summer when we allow him to enter restricted free agency. Would love to see a Bima summer 2015 article, but there are probably too many unknowns to make it worthwhile.

I just had Deja Vu in this thread. And I remember when I saw this thread the first time (in my mind, the deja vu) Kevin Love was getting traded to Houston. Please please please please please.

tisk tisk bima, love couldn't get a 5 year contract other than by extension, pek can only get it because he wasn't coming off a rookie scale.

Exactly how strong are the wolves now

Rubio, Martin, Cbud, Love and Peko

Martin has no D, but I still believe in his scoring

Bud is mediocre at best but I like him under RA

And fighting for the 8th seed.

Spent $60 million on Martin, Budinger, Brewer, & Turiaf. Another 60$ million on Pekovic.

How good is a team with Pekovic as its second best player?

I know that, man. Go "tisk" YOURSELF! :p

My point was that his extension locked him up for a total of five years from the date of the extension. Nothing more.

Also, the "Designated Player" issue created problems for Minnesota, who at the time thought Ricky Rubio may need to be that player. No such issue existed for Pekovic or any other Wolves free agent.

I have a feeling that injuries will derail this team again.

That's crazy money. You could field 5 Astros teams for that kind of payroll.
