another insult from you -- noted.

I supposed if by "reality", you mean the plan is a smelly turd, then you're spot on, actually.

In all fairness, I understand that he misconstrued your post, but it is easy to do given that you have bragged about your ability to "scrap" and you claim to have actually gone to another poster's house.

I was invited to Batman Jones' house by him personally.

but yes, Gladiator did indeed misconstrue my post.

Americans have short memories but no so short that they will forget the corporate lies about healthcare reform in three years. I can't wait to see the GOP candidates grilled over the success of Obamacare and whether they will try to repeal it.

I'm hardly avoiding reality, but rather calling it out, head-on.

The reality is that Obama has such little confidence in this turd of a healthcare plan that many of its components are being postponed.

LOL! It isn't about confidence, it is about adjusting the plan to fit with the situation on the ground, you know, like adults do.

I have never, not once, had a business plan work out exactly the way I expected it to. Without exception, I have had to make adjustments, whether to deal with higher or lower revenues, overstock or low inventory, irrational exuberance or power outages. If you don't understand this, you don't understand business and you DEFINITELY don't understand government.

But the insurance companies are not allowed to do this... They have been highly regulated for decades.

Didn't Congress opt-out at the last minute? I heard the other day on the radio that the CA Health Exchange is almost already bankrupt before paying a single claim....

The people who these shills work for don't care that good hard working Americans are dying every day because they can't afford health care. If that's their Ayn Rand survival of the fittest law of the jungle position, that's fine, but how they fit that morality into Christianity is beyond me. Christ would take a whip to insurance lobbyist, and he would take a whip to anyone shilling for them.

    No.

You hear lots of things. You may have noticed that most of the time, you find out that whatever you heard was not close to reality...

Actually his points were pretty dumb, which is a huge red flag for me as an undecided voter going into 2016. I was hoping the right would start taking this issue seriously, but nope, same old free market garbage.

Lasik and contact lenses are not even remotely the same as emergency medical care. It was a stupid example and either indicates a general lack of understanding of the problem of deception on his part.

He was just making the point that once a third party is paying for health care, there is zero incentive to keep costs down or offer competitive prices. Mandates in Obamacare achieve this effect.

Wait - you've been constantly griping about how employers are dropping coverage for employees for months now. If you believe that 3rd parties paying for health care is bad, you should be thrilled with that. The more that individuals are on the exchanges buying their own plans, the less 3rd party issues you have because people are more directly engaged in choosing and paying for their own health care.

Wall Street is right. Let's just admit that Obamacare is too complex to work. I guess we're just gonna have to push through single payer and be done with.

Thanks right wing for showing us the way!

Don't remember. Barely paying attention. Honestly I toggle back and forth between conservative talk radio and NPR.

No actually, it is quite true. Democrats complained to Obama that they would not be able to retain valuable staff, Obama instructed the Office of Personnel Management to write the rules to exclude Congress and staff. I've been hearing this all week, and I heard it directly from Congressman Burgess at an event earlier this week. He seems to think it won't happen though, that he will fight to ensure that every member of Congress and their staff play by the same rules as every one else.

I haven't seen much success in this program. It's not about the admin necessarily delaying the implementation, it's that they vastly miscalculated the cost of this legislation, they vastly miscalculated the affects it would have on the economy, and they were greatly unprepared. They assured Congress for 2 years that it would be ready to go, but from what I heard, they didn't start really working on it until last January. We've heard that what, 3 states are going to see lower rates? Meanwhile in many other states insurers are dropping out at faster rates, and rates have been predicted to increase as much as 71%.

Now I seriously doubt they will go up that high, but I expect them to increase. Just because we don't like the "A"CA, doesn't mean we don't want a better health insurance policy. We voted on this bill before even reading it. Members of Congress had 2 days to read through thousands of pages and analyze and research their contents prior to a vote. Not to mention, the bill left essentially all the content up to HHS and the Office of Personnel Management to do the rule writing. This isn't that unusual, but for a bill this large and complicated it leaves the Administration with a great deal of power with political appointments.

Apparently it has to do with a unique boost in subsidy:

    http://news.heartland.org/newspaper-article/2013/08/05/congresss-dubious-obamacare-exemption

Not really. Sometimes I'm not listening that well. It's background to something else I'm primarily engaged in.

Even if they are not "exempted," they are getting special treatment that the rest don't get. Are you cool with that?
