It seems difficult for asik as well. As much as people talk about Hakeems foot work his eye hand coordination is one of the best ever. You just needed to pass that ball close to him and you didn't need to worry about him catching that ball. No need to worry about special passers and all that.. I'm hoping Dwight has that ability as well.

Was that Doc Rivers and Scott Brooks the NBA coaches today?

I had no idea they were actual NBA players in the past haha

Wish we had Horry with Yao. He was by far one of the best passers to the post during the time.

Horry was a good passer to dream but yao had tmac and battiet and so on. Again Hakeem could catch that ball! It was that easy....

I was living in NYC at this time and went to this game. All day long the people that I worked with were telling me how Ewing and the Knicks were going to dominate Olajuwon and the Rockets. That the winning streak would come to an end.

My wife was working for a company that owned a suite in MSG and we were invited to the game. Everyone in the suite (her coworkers) were talking smack to me before the game because my wife told them I was from Houston and a HUGE Rockets fan. Like the people I worked with, they too were saying how Ewing and the Knicks were going to dominate. That Ewing was the better center. All I could say was "just wait" as I knew Hakeem was going kick @$$ and that the Rockets would win the gm.

It was AWESOME at the end of the gm watching all these people in the suite leave after watching Hakeem DOMINATE and the Rockets tying the record (15 straight wins to start the season). I also got a HUGE kick leaning over the rail of the suite watching all the Knick fans file out of the Garden knowing the Rockets just kicked their @$$!!!!!

They had a promo that night that if the Knicks won the gm everyone in the Garden would get a free mini pizza from Pizza Hut. As the fans were filing out of the Garden I was yelling at the top of my lungs "PIZZA"......."PIZZA"......"PIZZA".....and than followed that up with....."THAT'S RIGHT YOU HAD TO WIN THE GM". Knick fans were looking up at me in the suite flipping me off and telling me to "go to hell". Needless to say I had a few drinks that night and was feeling pretty good about the win and being a jerk, but man it felt good after all the abuse Knick fans were giving me the entire day.

I am BetterThanI, and I approve this message. ;)

My Dad owned a sports bar at the time of this series, and there was a group of loud, obnoxious Knicks fans (complete with blue and orange regalia) who regularly visited the bar. They were talking so much **** before the game, but man they sure were quiet at the end. It was awesome.

We didn't see them that much after that...until the Finals. They were pretty quiet at the end of those, too.

Why would this thread have less then 5 stars? Curious as to who tossed a low vote and their reasoning.

I think Houston is still paying off John Starks for his contribution to Game 7

don't worry about the ratings. Hakeem and the Clutch City Rockets didn't care about ratings.
