Apparently we have Oscar Robertson on the team but McHale is too stupid to realize it.

My hope for Lin this year: 40% shooting from 3 point land. Less TO's. Similar numbers scoring and assist wise. I am very happy with that.

i think this is the first post of yours which i have been disappointed in as i respect your comments.

i think the 40% rule is kinda flawed for lin as
    1. someone like Ryan Anderson, Kyrie Irving, Delfino heck even Parsons didnt even shoot 40%
    2. of all the point guard in the league only 8 shot 40%

alot of pressure for a guy who came into the league with not much of a jumper..

+ i also want to point out from your what you stated you want from Lin kinda bugged me that their was no reference to his on ball/off ball defence something he is trying to completely fix and change to help him

I agree 40% is a high number to expect, but if you want to be overly optimistic you could point to his sustained 3 point percentage to end the season. Add in the fact we got Howard and you would hope his 3 point looks this season should be that much easier.

I wouldn't bet on him being above 40%, but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm expecting 37-38 and even that is a pretty good season long improvement from last year.

40% isn't that bad considering Lin doesn't force his 3pts. He has a decent shot selection in when he will shoot and when he will drive. If he can truly develop his 3pt consistence and his confidence level, it isn't too difficult for him as the opponents will focus their perimeter defense on Harden and Parsons.

Allison entered the room, then stopped abruptly after almost over-running the girls in front of her. All stood, unmoving, seemingly transfixed by the sight before them. She turned her head to the right, in order to better see that which had so captured the attention of the other women, and found herself as unable to move as any of the others. There, holding forth to a small party of basketball fans, stood the incomparable Jocar.

    A** kisser.

Also, voice of aus, where did you see that Lin was working specifically on "fixing" on-ball/off-ball defense?

    this?

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=242996

JCF: So what are you primarily focused on from an improvement standpoint? I imagine shooting is probably right up near the top of the list.

JL: Yeah, shooting and doing a lot of lefty stuff – hopefully that will show that I’ve gotten a lot better at those things.

I would say another big thing has been posture. That might not sound like much, but it’s a big deal for me because it made me slower in the past. That’s more of a defensive-oriented improvement I’m trying to make.

JCF: So when you say posture, do you mean it in terms of improving your defensive stance from a balance standpoint so you can more readily and efficiently change directions? Can you go into some detail regarding the recognition of that being an issue and how it’s supposed to manifest itself into on-court results?

JL: My strength coach, Daryl Eto, thought that I had really bad posture and knew that that meant, as an athlete, I was moving less efficiently than I should be. So we addressed it and he came up with a plan to specifically improve that.

It can be frustrating at times because it’s like relearning the most basic of basic things which in this case is your stance and basic movement patterns. It’s not easy to relearn something at the age of 24 that you’ve been doing since you were a kid.

JCF: And this is something that is designed to help you more on the defensive end?

JL: Yeah, the idea is not so much to be more upright, but to have less concave of a back. One example is that if you look at Derek Fisher in his stance, he looks like an athlete. If you look at me, I look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame (laughs).

Thanks. Entertaining read. I'd have to agree that you could deduce defensive improvement from this. Especially if it takes before the season starts. Maybe that on/off ball stuff was added.

    JustAGuy vs Kuku

The flattery in both statements is absolutely fantastic. Kuku's punctuation use was far superior to that of JustAGuy. Kuku's a** kissing leaves a nice tastes on the lips, but JustAGuy had a few things going for him. Namely timing, creativity and the first mover effect. Look the first mover effect up if you don't know what that is. It's huge. That being said, JustAGuy gets the nod and no, a photo finish wasn't necessary.

You object to commas, inserted, randomly? Now that you draw my attention to it, I find it compelling, in its own way.
