I just bought a MBRP XP Series Catback Exhaust and a MBRP XP series H-Pipe online for my 2011 5.0. I just wanted to know if any of you guys were familiar with this exhaust system. I wanted the classic muscle car sound and was hoping this was a good system. Any feedback would be really helpful. The guy at AM told me they were really loud and that's what I wanted. I've seen a couple of YouTube videos but I'm curious as to how the exhaust system I bought sounds in person.

Looks kinda cheap. Like $700 for a full cat back? That's usually the price of SLP's Loudmouth exhausts, which are basically straight pipe.

The Loudmouths sound awesome in videos....but DAT DRONE.

My #1 concern would be drone at highway speeds, bro.

Tell the difference in SOUND? Yeah, you'll definitely tell. Whether or not you'll want to kill yourself inside the cabin is the question.

There's certain cars that need to breath IMO. If you have an old Plymouth muscle car with a big ass 5.7 liter engine, 8 cylinders, but not a lot of giddyup - you let it breath. That car was meant to be heard. I'm not a Mustang guy but I imagine a 5.0 qualifies as something that needs to breath.

Cheap compared to the high end exhausts? From what I've read they are pretty good quality.

Im getting a Corsa Extreme for my SRT8 that is on sale for $1,400.

SLP is good quality. Their exhausts are cheap because they're straight pipe. Not a lot of engineering. Which is why they drone like crazy. Its also why you see them for sale second hand so often. People love the ear bleeding loudness for a couple months, then get rid of it.

Looks like Bassani go for $1000 for the 5.0 and the Borla is $1500.

So $700 seems cheap. Im not a ford guy, and ive never heard of that brand of exhaust. I was just warning you of the drone associated with budget exhausts.

Next thing I'm getting is an airaid cold air intake, sct sf3 tuner, and ford racing Boss 302 intake manifold. I'm also debating on getting some good headers. I'm buying my stuff on American Muscle.com the original price for the catback was closer to $800 but I got it on sale. I liked the price and read some good reviews on it. The only negatives I read on it was the installation process but I'm taking it to a muffler shop to get it installed by pros.

I also read that it does have some drone that kicks in at 1800 to 2200 rpms highway about 75 mph. Luckily down here in Brownsville Tx there aren't many highways and everything is a 10 minute drive max.
