There are many good reasons to keep Title 9 in place. The first reason, with which you are struggling, is that these are (for the most part) public universities. These are not for profit entertainment conglomerates. If you had it your way, it wouldn't just be bye bye women's lacrosse. It would be bye bye women's sports of any kind. It would also be bye bye men's track, baseball, golf, wrestling and a whole host of other sports. All that would be left is football and men's basketball. I am really glad you aren't running the show. You also aren't calling for a restructuring of the NCAA. You are calling for a fundamental change in federal law. I don't see how you square your "if it doesn't turn a profit, pay the players millions and treat public colleges as entertainment ventures," warped view of the world with the Equal Protection problems that would arise in such a world. Those legal issues are OBVIOUS to anybody who thinks about it for a minute or two rationally. If you take everything you have posted in this thread and put your thoughts into actions, Johnny would never want to leave A&M for the NFL...he'd have to take a pay cut.
Was this recent or old? How ironic that the 'Heisman' part looks like an 'autograph' on a line lmfao.
Sources: Two more Manziel signings http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_...hnny-manziel-signed-two-more-sessions-sources Money Badger don't care!
Two things: 1. These new "sources" never even allege that he took money. 2. 4,400 autographs, 1,500 per signing? Please. I read an article that says the autographs were all in the same place on the items. Because of this, there are allegations that a lot of the signatures are forgeries. Sounds like somebody is trying to make their fake stuff look legit.
1. Never said they did 2. I just thought I'd post the article for you guys. I really don't care what happens to him either way.
now the Aggies' top recruit -- Hoza Scott -- is having trouble making the grade....in high school. LOL hell even VY6 graduated HIGH SCHOOL!
Manziel story on Deadspin... Ouch. http://deadspin.com/the-long-con-how-the-manziels-conquered-america-1040593220
I have not heard that he may not graduate. I have heard that his grades and test scores may keep him from qualifying under the NCAA clearinghouse. Those are two very different things. I am also hearing that, over the summer, he has made marked improvement and his chances of qualifying have improved.
Can TAMU just let the team vote on if Manziel should play or not and call it good? Seems to be the trend. I've heard Hoza Scott can play... hope he can read.
I've heard his HS coach is worried about Hoza Scott's eligibility for the high school season. but that doesn't mean he can't still suit up for the Texas A&M Aggies! #academicexcellencewhoop!
Of course, you didn't actually address the issue I actually posted. If Hoza does not meet the academic requirements set forth by the NCAA, he won't suit up for A&M or anybody else. #texxxdoesnotknowwhatheistalkingabout
I never said anything about the NCAA clearinghouse. objection, relevance and lack of reading comprehension It wouldn't surprise me if Laporte has a more stringent policy on playing than A&M, but I'll leave it to you to prove that
Yeah, UT, USC, Florida or Ohio State would never find a way to get a talented player that wasn't smart on the field. That A&M man, bunch of scumbags over there.
What is this, King of Thrones? I don't give a **** what his great, great grand daddy did much less his dad. This isn't Dallas, TX, it's not about what your daddy did, it's about what you can do.
You are the one who made the assertion, therefore you shoulder the burden of proving it. If you can't, then you are just talking out of your ass.
