Well IF he is willing to take whatever the Rockets have left to give I don't mind having him on the team. He fits the Vernon Maxwell mold most are wanting for the team.

This is a hard one for me.. I feel we need a mad max, ron ron type of player and Stephen J. can fill that void. After the below video I actually respect him more because I thought he was more ghetto. His offense I have no problem with as long as he can play hard nose defense..

Well, I don't know. On one hand, this seems like BS.

On the other hand, it's Alex Kennedy, who has been right when said we were looking at Jamal Tinsley... oh, nevermind. We weren't. But he was right when he said "close sources to Dwight" said Dwight was swaying between LA and Houston while on his way to meet the Lakers... oh, nevermind. That was total BS. But Kennedy did get the first scoop of a potential deadline trade where Memphis going to keep Rudy Gay and trade Randolph to the Rockets... oh, wait. That turned out to be nothing too.

Oh, I guess no matter how you look at it, this seems like BS to me.

The guy is 35 years old, and had a season so bad last year that Pop left him behind when the playoffs rolled around. Do we need this guy? No. I'll pass, and I certainly hope this is merely another of Kennedy's "rumors" that an agent likely got him to trot out there, and that Morey is laughing at the very idea of signing Jackson.

Delonte West I would agree with, but Stephen Jackson is done. At least West has been a consistently good 3-point shooter than can play some Point Guard. Even Metta World Peace is a more reliable 3-point shooter than Jackson.

Pop's not always right. He is most of the time though. Didn't they give us Scola?

That was a financial move to get them under the cap. It wasn't something they really wanted to do, as much as wanting to get something of value out of Luis before he signed a big deal with a European team and they got nothing. So they gifted him to us, Scola got to finally go to the NBA, and the Spurs still look stupid for doing the deal (Bima may not agree). It's a win win win, as far as I'm concerned. ;-)-

I like it. He's probably even a better fit than Cuttino Mobley ;)

Would be a good pickup if he's healthy and can contribute at the level he did in the 2012 playoffs. Miles better than Casspi/Williams etc.

Reggie Williams, Covington, or Jackson, take your pick.

Also we still have Brooks who can play the 2, and Bev, and Garcia.

Keep in mind also that the starter at the 2 spot plays more minutes than anyone else on the team.

Will Jackson make an impact then with 2 or 3 minutes of playing time off the bench? Little if any. Jackson would be the Mad Hatter at the Lin, Parson, Harden, D12 tea party. Odds are he will mess up the chemistry. Things are just too in transition right now for the Rockets to take gambles with such a player.

If we were dumb enough to sign Jackson, he'd be cut before the playoffs again.

I have no idea why anybody on here thinks he'd be a good signing for this particular roster.
If we need an enforcer, get one that's not 40.

Why in the hell would anybody want him anywhere near Howard?

Pop left him behind for off the court issues not for "Sucking"

If Pop kicked him out then I don't think Morey will even consider him. This thread reminds me of the inane Al Harrington "We have to sign this guy" thread. Rampant speculation by people who do not understand the effects of aging on advanced stats. "He could return to his glory years" people who like to deny that serious performance degradation after 33 years of age is in most cases terminal.

It was because they couldn't afford him anyway. Scola was recognized as one of the top players not in the NBA at the time, problem was the Spurs already have a guy named TD at PF and didn't have the capspace to bring him over. Rather than lose him for nothing they just got a draft pick and got rid of Jackie Butler's contract. It was a solid move for them.

I'd trust Pops decision over any of the posters here talking about a "pitbull", a psycho etc. The Spurs are already a vet team with one of the best locker rooms in the NBA, if they think you're not worth the trouble of bringing you into the playoffs then I don't want you near our young, impressionable locker room.

If Max was 20 years younger, and willing to take the minimum, we could start planning the parade route. ;)
