Sorry mate, I'm a ROF...Rocket Only Fan. Harden is my favorite player on the team. I've always been a fan of Dwight, so now he is a close second. I love Parsons play & hustle, Omer's blue collar play & Smith's big dunks. I loved Carlos D3fino when he was here ( except when he was forced to play at power forward). Pat Beverly's hustle is awesome, Donuts & TJ looked to have very bright futures, & if Aaron Brooks can return to his MIP form, than he is going to be an important piece to the puzzle. Garcia has earned my respect with his play & Canaan could be something special in the future. Camby being signed was a head scratcher, but if he can give us 'Mutombo Minutes' then I'm down with that...etc etc etc. I just LOVE my Rockets. Edit: if there's anyone I missed, sorry. It's almost 3 am down under, and the pain in my leg from my ankle reconstruction is killing me!!!
get a good sleep and that may help to reduce some pain . This board will not change re JLin. and hope your daughter is getting better day after day as well.

Lin can easily average Nash MVP numbers if Harden isn't on the team. That being said, I think he won't average more than 15/6 next season because we got too many options on the team and harden will be the main handler of the ball. I am not a lin fan and I often criticized Lin last year for his shootings before the all star break. However, I ahve to admit the Lin haters are getting too full of themselves. This is a very pathetic post and not necessary at all. Undersized? Turnovers? Are you kidding me? Lin being a turnover machine last season was only a myth because every Lin hater says so. If he really watched rockets games last season then he wouldn't have made that comment at all. I mentioned in another thread that despite Lin's poor shooting(although he improved late last season), he is a very good help and on ball defender.
lol You guys say things that give people no option but to argue against Lin. Like come on, this is so unrealistic it's laughable.
Not even remotely a hater, but being 11th in the league in turnovers per 48 while being a secondary ball handler IS pretty turnover prone. Those numbers aren't made up, you can check them if you think I'm just perpetuating the myth. The rest of your post I'm fine with, but turnovers are absolutely something he needs to improve. And no he's not the only one.
I feel if we need a lot more Lin threads....the other 5 are not enough. This one is hardly scratching the surface.
Why stop there? Maybe he can get 10 rpg and 5 bpg too and average a triple-double for the season. This is a stupid thread.
I'm just confused as to why people aren't allowed to complain about Lin. I agree with every bit of this assessment, minus the athleticism. I'd probably replace size with strength. IsakD, I could debate with you all day long about Lin and predicting his future. That's because we believe the common good of the team is the most important. Yao fans understood this, TMac fans, even HayesFan. Team comes before player. It's the idea that a player should play because his fans or because they were hot for 30 games at a time that bothers me. It's basically gotten to the point that I can't read valid arguments on here any more. It's all passion and no thought behind that passion. Young players that aren't playing well sit. It's always been that way. Players who play well in the playoffs get extra points with fans. It's always been that way. Getting value from a player while they are at their peak of value is a good idea. It's always been that way, unless you have a real star on your hands. Predictions. That's what this is about. A certain percentage of people see 13, 6 and 3 with 3 turnovers and see potential to be great because they remember he scored 24 ppg over an 11 game stretch as a rookie. They are predicting a real star. Another percentage sees a one hit wonder who topped the charts for 11 games. Those same stats don't line up with stars they're used to. The rest are somewhere in-between. The truth is, no one knows what to expect and it's a bit of a stand-off in clutch land right now. And it should be. Let's just all hope the cream rises to the surface. Including the posts and threads.
Rookie mistake. Please forgive this ignorant man. He doesn't know about the excellent qualities of our Asian community.
The turnovers, just like the defense, were the biggest problems for the team last season. A lot of that was because these guys were thrown together without the benefit of a training camp or a coherent defensive scheme. The offense was basically letting the kids off their leashes, and with smart players like Harden, Lin, and Parsons who know how to run wild, the results spoke for themselves. But because they didn't always know where everyone was and they didn't run many set plays, that's where all the turnovers came from - bad passes into clogged spaces, getting stripped in the lane, etc. etc. etc. Hopefully that's a problem that will fix itself just with experience and a real training camp. Lin has recognized it as an issue since Linsanity started, and even though the turnovers are a product of his playstyle that's not to say he can't cut them down. Hopefully Harden will feel less pressure to create all of the offense on his own and will also cut down on the bad bounce passes and getting stripped while driving in the lane. The thing is, the turnovers would not have been such a big deal if the team had better defense, particularly when Asik was off the floor. But since they had one of the highest-pace offenses and one of the worst defenses, it kept opponents into games that they should have been blown out of early on, because those extra 5 possessions a game basically closed the gap in competitive games.
I think you nailed it. Lin's points go down because Howard's are going to have to come from someone, his assists go up because Howard is going to score a lot of assisted field goals, his steals remain constant and most important of all, his turn overs drop by 1 a game because Howard rarely bobbles a pass. 12 points, 5 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.9 turn overs. And that is one hell of a box score for any point guard. And it is a box score that will win a lot of games.
