To be fair, the season's plot hasn't advanced many of the main character's stories. Supplemental characters are having new stories added, which some may view as detracting from the main characters. We're already halfway through the season and Dexter and Deb are in the same place they were from the beginning of season 7, although Deb may be starting to accept Dexter. Dexter's story with his relation to other characters has been going in circles, rather than progressing. Also, does anyone else think that Yates wasn't the lobotomizer? I mean, yeah, he did have a lesion removed by recommendation of Vogel, but those killings don't fit his profile of targeting women and leaving them with one shoe on, unless I missed something that definitively proves it was him.
Eh, I think Vogel is a killer herself. I think she gets other killers to do her killing for her. She'll probably try and use Zack to kill Dex. Throw Deb in that mix, who knows who gets killed (I'd bet Vogel, at the least).
This season has been uneven. More Hannah McKay and less Quinn. I still can't believe we got six seasons of Quinn and only two from Doakes. I miss that MFer.
It's crazy that they are coming up with the best story lines since Trinity in the final season. Vogel's appearance, Zack learning The Code, Hannah's return, Deb learning Dexter's secret are all good enough to carry an entire season on their own. Too bad they basically sleep walked through seasons 5 and 6 and didn't explore some of these ideas then.
Very solid episode because of Hannah's return, but once again...just doesn't feel like a true final season. Doesn't seem to have an epic ending coming, but maybe they'll surprise.
just like the earlier seasons, all the good episodes are 10 11 12. those are the awww shieettt episodes.
Solid episode. Crazy to imagine theres only 5 episodes left in this series after so many years of watching this show.
No way. Season 3 and 5 were pretty bad. This season is okay so far, but we haven't really learned much. We still haven't met the main antagonist as far as the viewer can tell from what has been provided. Is this season still running its normal 12 episode course?
Ugh, had a long reply about my thoughts on this episode/season only for ClutchFans to crash on me and erase it. Anyway, here are spark notes. Doesn't feel like a final season. Bunch of filler that never progresses Dexter's secret. Enjoying the Hannah McKay arc. Actually moves Dexter's story (plus Hannah McKay is hot). Enjoyed the episode because of funny moments with Zach. Vogel looks like the brain surgeon. She was the only one who could kill Zach, have knowledge about police work and her psychopaths to actually go after them. But how does she physically do it? Is Quinn trying to frame Zach for Cassie's murder? Maybe trying to replicate Norma's murder so he can arrest Zach and be the hero? Quinn was a dirty cop, but seems out of character for him. But no other possible suspects. With 4 episodes left, they can bring the story to a close, but too much filler in between. Quite a disappointing season for the finale.
yeah I've been feeling the same way. I'm extremely disappointed with where the season has been going. Pretty clear that Vogel is the killer. No more resolution with the deb thing. Is there going to be no kind of resolution with Dexter at the end of the season? I'll be mad if that happens. The final few episodes have got to be packed.
I'd like to see the resolution as Dexter being killed and the last scene showing Harrison killing a cat and grinning.
